Pulmonary arterial hypertension(PAH) remains a progressive disease characterized by increased pulmonary pressure and pulmonary vascular remodeling. PAH with partially clarified pathogenesis is lack of effective treatments and poor prognostic. In recent years, genetic correlation has been applied to the pathogenesis of PAH, with deep research into cell and molecular biology. Gene technology explores the genetic mechanism of PAH on molecular biology level. It has achieved a range of progresses and is promising to provide new clues in the research of PAH pathogenesis. Targeted therapy in view of the genes related signal pathway and specific target of disease can accurately treat PAH, and has opened up a novel direction in this field. The use of novel targeted drug and combined therapy has brought hope to patients. The review focuses on the research advance of gene-related pathogenesis and targeted therapy of PAH.
