The Research On Name Of Tree In Compendium Of Chinese Materia Medica

“Compendium of Chinese Materia Medica”is an important Chinese medicine books in Chinese history,which contains a large number of valuable medical resources. It included a large number of C hinese herbal name,and “the formal name” is laid out as list,the explanation of herbal medicine names is one of a items in the list. The other items include “detailed explanation”,”error correction”,”rectification”,”the smell”,”mainly treatment”,”the inwention”,all of which narrate the medicine in many aspect.This book contains a lot of exegesis resources with greater reference value.“Compendium of Chinese Materia Medica” consisted of fifty-two volumes and contained sixteen category of herbal medicine:water、fire、soil、minera、herb、grain、vegetable、fruit、tree、household and clothes utensils、insect、fish、chelonian、beast、poultry and bird、body part of human.Tree category is divided into six category: incense wood、arbor、shrub、parasitism plant、bamboo and the others,in total of 180 kinds. In this paper, we take the names of “the formal name” and “the detailed explanaation” items as a research corpus in tree category.We will do the reaserc h on the naming reason, characteristics of the naming,the the word- making,and the phenomenon on” one thing having different names”and”different things share one name”.Firstly,the naming reason.We will analysis the semantic of the name,to know the inner constitution and the external form.The inner constitution includes the classification sememe、the referent sememe( of the feature)、the feature sememe. The external form includes classification name、the referent name(of the feature)、the feature name. In the external form,the “name”means constituent part including morpheme or radicals in Chinese characters.In this part, we analysis the names in macro,to know the method and the characteristic of naming.Secondly,the characteristic of naming.Trees are named in accordance with the salient features,so we will analysis the features of the classification sememe 、the referent sememe( of the feature)、the feature sememe by statistics in microcosmic,to fully know the characteristics of the tree naming in “Compendium of C hinese Materia Medica- tree category”Thirdly,the word- making.The method of naming is the word-making method of the name.We will analysis how the external morpheme combined in pronunciation method 、semantic method、rhetoric method、grammar method.Fourthly,we will analysis the phenomenon on”one thing having different names”and”different things share one name” in “Compendium of C hinese Materia Medica- tree category”,and conclude the reason.
