Objective:1. To assess the prevalence and risk factors of symptoms associated to Urinary Continence, Fecal Incontinence, Prolapse on woman in Nanjing area, in 2 majors group of women(?50 year of age and>50 year of age).2. To analyze (to examine) the contributor factors to Urinary Continence, Fecal Incontinence, Pelvic organ Prolapse on woman in Nanjing area.Methods:1. An anonymous one-on-one interview questionnaire was conducted from November 2013 to November 2014; among 700 Chinese patients treated at Southeast University Affiliated Zhongda Hospital Medical Center. Subjects, who met the criteria, were eligible to the study. Data were collected on urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and related symptoms. Female sexual questionnaire was conducted for other relevant history.2. Different Symptoms scores were obtained using previously validated questionnaire in order to assess prevalence of symptoms related to urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse.3. SPSS version 20.0 was used for data analysis. Descriptive statistics were performed to describe the distribution of sample characteristics. Multiple regression analysis was performed to identify the predictors of urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse. P<0.05 was considered to indicate significance.Results:1. Unfortunately we were not able to go through with the Sexual function questionnaire, for participants were uncomfortable responding to questions they believed were private matters.2. Demographic characteristics:A total of 732 individuals, of age range 22-85 years old, from Nanjing area completed the questionnaire during the study period, we obtain 700 valid questionnaires, response Rate was 95,6% of. Of the 700 participants,545 (77.86% of valid total participants) were<50 year of age,155(22.14%) were> 50 year of age. Occupation distribution was as follow:Worker 78 participants (11.14%), Staff members 90 participants (12.86%), Teachers 175 participants (25%), Health care providers 118 participants (16.86%), Farmer 18 participants (2.57%), retired 10 participants (1.43%), Unemployed 41 participants (5.86%), the rest were into Science and Technology, Journalist, Freelancer, Literature and Art, Finances, Businesswomen; Marital Status: 669(97.14%) participants were already married,5 (0.72%)were unmarried and 15 (2.14%) were separated, divorced or bereaved. Survey characteristics:the total of women enrolled in the study were 700, among whom 70.71%(495/700) have experienced symptoms related to urinary incontinence; these symptoms were frequent among women younger than 50 years of age among whom 69.36%(378/545) reported them; while 75.48%(117/155) of women older than 50 reported similar symptoms.97.86% of the survey population has experienced symptoms related to Fecal Incontinence; the incidence among women younger than 50 years of age was 97.25%(530/545), while of 100%(155/155) among the women older than 50 years of age.13.57% of the survey population report experiencing symptoms related to Pelvic organ Prolapse, the incidence was of 14.31%(78/545) among the women younger than 50, while 10.97%(17/155) among the women older than 50.4. By means of Multiple linear regression we analyzed 18 factors, among which age, fetal weight, BMI...Factors significantly associated to Urinary Continence included:age (B=-2.539, P=0.049), Smoking habit (B=-1.041, P=0.003), Menstruation (B=-0.622, P=0.015), fetal weight (B =0.627, P=0.002), the mode of delivery (B=-0.558, P=0.007), alcohol consumption (B=2.863, P=0.043). Factors significantly related to fecal incontinence included:smoking habit (B=-1.336, P=0.010). Factors significantly related to pelvic organ prolapse included:family history (B= 0.524, P<0.001), number of abortions (B=0.082, P=0.001), number of inductions (B=0.379, P=0.001), Employment condition (B=0.138, P =0.029), menstruation (B=-0.226, P=0.002), age (B=0.008, P= 0.020), alcohol consumption (B=0.306, P=0.033).Conclusions:1. Symptoms related to Urinary continence, Fecal Incontinence and Pelvic Organ Prolapse were found to be frequent among the women in Nanjing area.2. Factors related to Urinary continence were found to be age, smoking habit, menstruation, fetal weight, mode of delivery; we found smoking habit the one factor related to Fecal Incontinence, where as family history, number of abortions, inductions, employment conditions, menstruation, age, alcohol consumption were significantly related to Pelvic Organ Prolapse.
