OBJECTIVE To investigate chang of serum NT-pro BNP level in patients with acute cerebral stroke and severity of disease and prognosis.METHODS Object detection for the patients with acute cerebral in our hospital during 2012 December to 2013 December for treatment of Stroke, which are divided into ischemia group and SAH group. Their ages range from 40 to 80 years old. All patients were in within 24 hours from onset and examined by CT or MRI diagnosed with acute stroke, were all diagnosed according to the diagnostic criteria or Fourth Academic Conference on cerebrovascular disease. The control group in the same period and age matched healthy check-up in the hospital patients. All patients in the study and healthy subjects had no lung, heart, brain, liver, kidney, muscle history of disease, drug therapy for the first time before the use of anti-inflammatory, blood volume, vascular dilation, thrombolysis. Difference between the three groups in age, gender does not constitute a significant. Patients with acute cerebral stroke were divided into cerebral infarction group and cerebral hemorrhage group according to their symptoms. The NT-pro BNP levels in 24 h, 5±2d and 12±2d, NIHSS score and Glasgow score of two groups were contrastively analyzed. The relevancy of NT-pro BNP levels with two scores was studied. Results The NT-pro BNP levels on 24 h, 5±2d and 12±2d in cerebral infarction group is 546.78 pg /ml,456.62 pg /ml and 176.14 pg /ml, which is 458.57 pg/ml,366.31 pg/ml and 159.95pg/ml in cerebral hemorrhage group. The NT-pro BNP levels in different NIHSS score groups in statistically different(P<0.01). The Glasgow score also significantly relevant with NT-pro BNP level. The higher the level of serum NT-pro BNP in patients, three months after the onset of MRS score is higher. Conclusions Serum NT-pro BNP serum levels may be biological markers associated with the severity of stroke patients.
