Hypertension is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases in our country. As the most widespread, serious and hidden cardiovascular disease, it is closely related to coronary heart and cardiovascular disease which easily lead to death. By 2010 33.5% people suffer from hypertension in our country according to the statistics. The cause of essential hypertension is complicated, the pathogenesis of essential hypertension includes the disorder of nerve-endocrine system adjustment, the increasing of renal sodium storage and the obstacle of ion transporting in smooth muscle, genetic and so on. According to Poiseuille's law, Total peripheral resistance was positively correlated to blood viscosity. Blood viscosity has certain effect on blood pressure. We found that blood pressure fluctuation was always accompanied by the variation of blood viscosity in clinic. But the definite relation between blood viscosity and blood pressure is remained to be studied. This paper is aimed at exploring the relationship between the two factors. The research is divided into three parts: part ?, to clarify the effect of age, gender on blood viscosity, we utilized blood analyzer to detect the change of blood viscosity(whole blood viscosity(WBV)?plasma viscosity(PV)?red blood cell(RBC) rigidity?red blood cell aggregability?red blood cell deformability) in no-hypertension population of different age and sex; part ?, we measured 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure and blood viscosity in the elderly with hypertension and without hypertension to explore the relationship between hypertension and blood viscosity; part ?, we grade the elderly patients with hypertension according to the classification standard to analysis the blood viscosity characteristics under different grade and the correlation between hypertension severity and blood viscosity. The results show :1?The blood viscosity was positively correlated to the age;2? Elderly patients with hypertension have higher blood viscosity than the elderly without hypertension. The blood viscosity was positively correlated to the 24 h average diastolic blood pressure; 3 ? The severity of hypertension was positively correlated to the blood viscosity. We hope to provide theoretical basis and guidance for the clinical treatment of cardiovascular disease(such as hypertension et.al) by exploring the relationship between blood pressure and blood viscosity.
