[Objective] To observe the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio and mean platelet volume level in serum of patients with type 2 diabetes and normal control group, investigate the relationship of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio and mean platelet volume with brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity in type 2 diabetic macrovascular complications and the significance of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio and mean platelet volume in diabetes and diabetic macrovascular complications. [Methods] Select 52 cases with type 2 diabetic who hospitalized in the Department of Endocrinology ward of Fujian Medical University Affiliated Union Hospital from September 2012 to December 2015 and 33 cases of control people who underwent healthy examination and showed no diabetes and their complications served.Divided into three groups: 33 cases of normal control group(NC group), the average age(54.55±5.32) years old;20 cases of type 2 diabetes without macroangiopathy(DM2 group), the average age(54.40±5.76) years old;32 cases of type 2 diabetes with macroangiopathy(DM1 group), the average age(58.69±6.44) years old.Collecting data of each research object:weight, height, blood pressure, duration of disease, body mass index(BMI, BMI=body weight(kg) / height2(m2));some hematological parameters, such as neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR),monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio(MLR)and mean platelet volume(MPV),fasting blood glucose(FBG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c), triglyceride(TG),cholesterol(CHOL), high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),homocysteine(Hyc),blood uric acid, serum creatinine,intima-media thickness(IMT), ankle-brachial Index(ABI), brachical-ankle artery pulse wave velocity(baPWV).Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 19.0 statistical software,Single factor variance analysis was used for continuous variables;?2 test for categorical variables; differences and correlation among the indexes were using linear correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis.Two-sided P-values <0.05 was considered statistically significant. [Results]1.The correlation between NLR,MLR, MPV and the general information and biochemical parameters using Pearson correlation analysis showed: NLR was positively correlated with MPV,MLR,systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, serum creatinine.MLR was positively correlated with NLR,age, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, homocysteine, blood uric acid, serum creatinine.MPV was positively correlated with NLR,systolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin.2.The Pearson relevance analysis of NLR,MLR,MPV and vascular targets demonstrated: NLR,MLR,MPV and baPWV were positively related.3.The multiple linear regression analysis of NLR,MLR,MPV and grouping demonstrated: the grouping had a significant impact on NLR(P<0.05) and MPV(P<0.05), it meant that NLR and MPV levels decreased with DM1, DM2 and NC grouping sequence, but the grouping had no significant impact on MLR(P>0.05).4.The multiple linear regression analysis of NLR,MPV and baPWV showed:NLR and MPV levels were found to be independently associated with baPWV in type 2 Diabetic macrovascular complications. [Conclusion]1. In terms of the level of NLR and MPV, the normal control group accounted for the greatest number, followed by the type 2 diabetes group and the type 2 diabetes with macroangiopathy group ranking at the third position, and that NLR and MPV levels were found to be independently associated with baPWV in type 2 Diabetic macrovascular complications. Therefore, NLR and MPV may play an important role in the inhibition of diabetes and diabetic macrovascular complications.2. NLR,MLR,MPV and baPWV were positively correlated, prompting the level of NLR,MLR,MPV may be indicative of diabetic early macrovascular complications.
