| Objective: To study the clinical efficacy of compound placenta hominis capsule in treating MPS of disharmony between heart and kidney and its effects on hormone levels, thus lead to a new treatment for MPS, which proves the advantage of traditional Chinese medicine in treating MPS and provides basis for clinical applications.Methods: On the basis of inclusion / exclusion criteria, a total of 90 outpatients with MPS of gynecology department of Baoding Third Central Hospital from October 2014 to October 2015 were selected and evenly divided into treatment group and control group for observation. Patients in both groups were given conventional treatments after the reception. Patients in control group received oral administration of Medroxyprogesterone Acetate Complex Capsule(also known as Fufuchun capsule, provided by Beijing Kangbide Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd) one capsule daily. In addition to the conventional treatment, patients in treatment group received oral administration of compound placenta hominis capsule(consist of granules of placenta, Ganoderma lucidum, Ligusticum lucidum, cinnamon, Chinese wolfberry and coptis, provided by Guangdong Efong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) 4 capsules three times daily on empty stomach. Patients in both groups received a total of 3 treatment courses with 28 days for each, and stop taking medicines for 5 days between courses. At the end of each course, observations such as sleep situation, emotional mood, hot flushes, sweating, paraesthesia of skin were made and recorded; pre- and post –treatment test results of E2, FSH, LH, liver and kidney function were recorded; the effects of the two groups was collected statistically after each course for comprehensive comparison.Results: 1. Clinical effect: after the first course, the total effective rate was 86.67% in the treatment group, and 64.45% in the control group; at the end of the second course, the total effective rate was 91.12% in the treatment group, and 71.12% in the control group; after the third course, the total effective rate was 95.56% in the treatment group, and 77.78% in the control group. The clinical efficacy of the two groups were compared, the total effective rate in the treatment group was higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05), which means the clinical efficacy of the treatment group was better than the control group. 2. Kupperman symptom score: Kupperman symptoms score of both groups were compared after treatment, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Th e symptom score in both groups decreased, and the treatment group was superio r to the control group. 3. Disappearance rate of clinical symptoms: after treatment, the disappearance rate of clinical symptoms of the treatment group was higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05), the treatment group was better than the control group in terms of improvement of the clinical symptoms. 4. Results of clinical lab index: hormone indicators were improved in both groups after treatment, and the difference is statistically significant(P < 0.05). After treatment, estradiol increased more in treatment group than in the control group, while FSH and LH decreased more compared with the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). 5. Security index: patients in both groups had the liver and kidney function test before and after treatment, and no obvious abnormalities were found. No adverse reactions and toxic side effects were found during the treatment, patients in both groups were able to complete the test without interruption.Conclusion: 1. In the treatment of MPS of disharmony between heart and kidney with compound placenta hominis capsule, the total effective rate in the treatment group was higher than the control group, which demonstrates significant clinical effect.2. In the treatment of MPS of disharmony between heart and kidney with compound placenta hominis capsule, Kupperman symptom score in treatment group decreased more significantly than that in the control group after treatment, which suggests that the additional use of compound placenta hominis capsule in decreasing symptom score is superior to Western medicine. 3. In the treatment of MPS of disharmony between heart and kidney with compound placenta hominis capsule, E2 in the treatment group increased more significantly than the control group, FSH and LH lowered more significantly than the control group. 4. In the treatment of MPS of disharmony between heart and kidney with compound placenta hominis capsule, the disappearance rate of main clinical symptoms of the treatment group is higher than the control group, which suggests that the additional use of compound placenta hominis capsule in improving the symptom is better than that of Western medicine. 5. The conventional western medicine treatment combined with compound human placenta hominis capsule will treat both manifestation and root cause of diseases, and better improve the efficacy of MPS. 6. A new prescription was provided for improving the symptoms of MPS and the quality of women's life, as well as for delaying senescence. |
