OBJECTIVE:To analyze the characteristics and the factors of complications and mortality of the elderly patients after different hip operations.METHODS:We retrospectively analyzed 249 patients accepting hip operations, aged = 60.The data of age, sex, classification of diseases, ASA, mental factors, hemoglobin, albumin, Charlson comorbidity index(CCI),ways of anesthesia, surgical procedures, operative time, amount of bleeding, length of stay, postoperative complications, mortality were recorded, and CCI was used to identify and summarize patients' comorbid burden.RESULTS:There were significant differences in age,ASA, length of stay, hemoglobin, albumin, operative time, amount of bleeding among elderly patients accepting five hip operations. No significant difference in complications and death was found. A multivariate analysis showed mortality was associated with age=80 (P=0.027; 95% CI:1.147-9.534) and CCI?3 (0.021; 95% CI:1.200-8.931), and complications following surgery was associated with length of stay (P=0.019; 95% CI:1.009-1.102),albumin<30g/L (P=0.006; 95% CI:1.388-6.717) and CCI ?3 (P=0.022; 95% CI:1.115-3.968)CONCLUSION:The most significant indicators affecting complications were length of stay and albumin on admission and preoperative Charlson comorbidity index. The most significant indicators affecting death were age and preoperative Charlson comorbidity index.
