Object CT images of basal ganglia hemorrhage patients were analyzed by using Image J software, and fractal dimension D values indicating graphics' irregular degree were calculated. The correlation of fractal dimension D values and basal ganglia hemorrhage prognosis was investigated which provided a new way of evaluating the prognosis of basal ganglia hemorrhage.Method 60 cases of basal ganglia hemorrhage were screened out according to strict inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria, who were from the First People's Hospital of Chenzhou between February 2012 to February 2015?General clinical condition, hospitalization information and clinical outcome of these 60 patients were collected, and NIHSS score of each patient was calculated before or after treatment and assessed their prognosis by NIHSS score values. These patients' original CT images were acquired from the Computer Center, and fractal dimension describing irregular degree of cerebral hemorrhagewas obtained by analyzing the CT images via image J software. The correlations were analyzed between basal ganglia hemorrhage prognosis factors(position of hemorrhage, age, gender, blood pressure, volume of hemorrhage and fractal dimension of CT image) and the prognosis of patients with basal ganglia hemorrhage by single factor linear regression correlation analysis, and the correlations were also analyzed between different prognostic factors of basal ganglia hemorrhage and NIHSS values of different time after treatment by multiple factor correlation regression analysis.Result1. Position of hemorrhage and gender are not associated with prognosis of basal ganglia hemorrhage(p> 0.05).2. Age, blood pressure, blood volume of hemorrhage, the fractal dimension D value are independent prognostic factors of basal ganglia hemorrhage(p> 0.05).3. The fractal dimension D value is significantly correlated with volume of hemorrhage, position of hemorrhage and prognosis of basal ganglia hemorrhage(p> 0.05).4. Age, blood preasure, blood volume, fractal dimension D value and the NIHSS score were analyzed with Logistic regression, which show blood volume, fractal dimension D value are dangerous factors of prognosticof hemorrhage(p> 0.05,the wald value are 5.047 and 3.187).Conclusion Fractal dimension D value is significantly correlated with prognosis of basal ganglia hemorrhage. Image J software may be used to analyze patients' CT images and get the fractal dimension, which may be as a new indicator of evaluating the prognosis of basal ganglia hemorrhage.
