Objective:To investigate the expression of gankyrin in bladder cancer tissues. To analysis the relationship between gankyrin expression and the clinic pathological features including differentiation and TNM grade of bladder cancer and the prognosis for the patients with bladder cancer. Methods:The expression levels of Gankyrin protein in 60 cases of bladder cancer tissues and precancerous tissues were detected by Immunohistochemical. RT-PCR was performed to detect the expression of gankyrin in 32 cases of fresh bladder cancer tissues. The relationship between gankyrin expression and the clinicopathological features including differentiation and TNM grade of bladder cancer and the the prognosis for the patients with bladder cancer was analysis by Mantel-cox sequential inspection were analysis by Student's t test.Results:1. The expression of gankyrin in bladder cancer tissues.Gankyrin staining was found positive in 73.3%(44/60) cases of bladder cancer, while it was found positive in 21.7%(13/60) cases of para-carcinoma tissues, significantly lower than cancer tissues (P<0.05).2. The relationship between gankyrin expression and the clinic pathological features including differentiation and TNM grade of bladder cancer. The expression of gankyrin was lower in high degree TNM stage than in low degree TNM stage (p<0.05), and the expression of gankyrin was lower in well differentiated bladder cancer tissues than poorly differentiated bladder tissues (P<0.05). While there was not significant correlation between gankyrin expression and the bladder patient s age and sex (p>0.05).3. The relationship between gankyrin expression and the prognosis for the patients with bladder cancer. The average survival time of patients with gankyrin positive expression was 51.46 months, while the average survival time of patients with negative expression of gankyrin for 63.50 months. The negative expression group s survival rate was significantly higher than positive expression group. Two groups of patients survival rate were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Gankyrin expressions widespread in bladder cancer and was significantly correlate with TNM grade?differentiation and the prognosis for the patients with bladder cancer, which may become a new target of the biological behavior and the prognosis for bladder cancer.
