Objective: Available epidemiological data, the link between helicobacter pylori infection and Barrett esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma is uncertain. Analyzing the relations between helicobacter pylori infection with the disease is beneficial to the prevention and treatment of esophageal disorders. The reliability of the results of the study in traditional literature review is hard to ensure authenticity and scientific,There are many uncontrollable due to a single case study bias.According to a series of this study include and exclude standards,to clarify the association of Helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection with Esophageal adenocarcinoma and Barrett's esophagus by Meta-analysis.Method: We performed a comprehensive search from PubMed?EMbase and CNKI to identify studies pertaining to the association between H pylori and Barrett's esophagus or Esophageal adenocarcinoma. The statistical software, STATA(version 12.0) was applied to investigate heterogeneity among individual studies and Review Manager(version 5.3) was applied to summarize the studies. Odds ratio(OR) is used as the effect of the value of count data factors, OR,s95% confidence interval(CI) representing each effect size range. Results: About helicobacter pylori and Barrett esophagus retrieved 342 articles, After reading the full text of 25 articles were included in the standard. Our analysis included a total of 25 studies that examined the effect of H pylori on Barrett's esophagus. Barrett esophagus in patients with Hp infection rate was 13.9%, The control group Hp infection rate was 15.5%. These associations between Hp infection and Barrett's esophagus were statistically significant(OR[95% CI], 0.44 [0.40, 0.48],P<0.05), and even more so cag A(OR[95% CI], 0.51 [0.39, 0.67],P<0.05). About helicobacter pylori and esophageal adenocarcinoma altogether 280 articles were retrieved. After reading the full text articles were included in the standard.16 studies examined the effect of H pylori on esophageal adenocarcinoma, Esophageal carcinoma patients with Hp infection rate was 36.1%,The control group Hp infection rate was 44.4%.These associations between Hp infection and Esophageal adenocarcinoma were statistically significant(OR[95% CI], 0.57 [0.50, 0.66],P<0.05).Conclusion: Hp infection is associated with a decreased risk of esophageal adenocarcinoma and Barrett's esophagus, maybe, cagA play a role in the course.
