With the rapid development of the cause of medicine, traditional manual distribution way can not adapt to the improvement of pharmacy management automation level of hospital and the requirements of new medical environment for pharmacy. The traditional way is time consuming, seriously polluted, and error-prone. At present, intelligent and efficient automated tablet dispensing & packaging system(ATDPS) is replacing the tedious, time-consuming and error-prone manual work gradually. A single dose of tablets, after packaging by the tablets packing machine, is loaded into a one dose package(ODP), this greatly improved the patient's medication, however, there may still occur extra pills, tablets missing, broken tablets and other issues, which if not being found and treated timely, may aggravate the patient's condition and even life-threatening. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a secondary verification on the ODP. This paper faces to tablets packing machine, studies on the one dose packaging, designed and developed a set of ODP tablets inspection and recognition system, which can be used to detect and verificate the tablets in the ODP. By implementing strict traceability and processing strategy to the inspection results, the developed system reduces the mistake of the tablets packing machine, adds a wall of defense of life and health of the patient.Firstly, this paper analysis of the applications of ATDPS in the tablet dispensing and packaging process, discusses the significance and market value of a ODP tablets detection and verification system, Then Outlines the definition of machine vision, and studies the typical structure of the machine vision system, cites machine vision applications in various fields, and summarizes the research status of ODP tablets detection and verification technology based on machine vision.Secondly, combining with the design requirements of ODP tablets detection and verification system, considering of the selection of industrial cameras, light sources and optical lens, as well as the choice of illumination, this paper designs the visual imaging scheme of the system. Then analyzes the main functions of the system to be achieved, designs the system's framework, describes the system's workflow, then gives a detailed description of the main components of the system.Then, researching on the tablet image processing algorithm, this paper describes three aspects of pills image processing in detail, including tablets image pre-processing, single tablet area extraction and pills image feature extraction.After that, this paper designs and carries out two programs of tablets verification, one of them is to take full use of the prior knowledge and information of the ODP tablets, using feature matching and matching evaluation method to do tablets verification. The other method is based on the identification of multiple adaptive weighted SVM classifier fusion.Finally, this paper introduces the system software implementation, it analyzes the general process of software architecture design, gives the software system structure and function modules, and descripts of the working principle of the sub-modules and implementation.
