Objective:Thisstudy was carried out to analyze the canal transportation and centring ratio by means of cone-beam computed tomography, and using SEM observe thedebris and smear layer between PTG and TFA rotary systems. To compare shaping and cleaning ability of the two systems.Aiming to help physician select the appropriate root canal preparation in clinical work.Methods:40 abstracted premolars with single randomly divided into two groups of 20,In first group PTG and in the second,TFA was used for canal preparation.Crown-down method was used to prepare two groups.Group PTG ready to F2,Group TFA ready to 0.06/#25.CBCT scans were taken tocapture 3D images of the medial and distal thickensses of the tube wall in vitro teeth before and after preparation in 1,2,3,5,8,10 mm from the apex.Data were assessed by Invivo Dental 5.0.The minimum thickness of 2 groups of canals were measured before and after preparation. The data were analyzed to calculate the canal transportation and centering ability of the two groups of PTG and TFA.After preparation, for all vitro teeth, preparation of the samples for SEM started with preparing two longitudinal grooves on the buccal and lingual surfaces using diamond bur.The roots were then split vertically with a chisel.Put all teeth into the 2.5% glutaraldehyde, fixed for 24 hours and then turn into the 50% to absolute ethanol, dehydrated, dried, sprayed gold.Observed the debris and smearlayer of the root coronal 1/3,the middle 1/3 and the apical 1/3 under SEM.Scored them based on scoringstandard. All data were analyzed by t-test using SPSS 21.0.Statistical significance was set at P<0.05.Results:1.Comparing the amount of transportation of the two group Offset from the root canal apical 1mm at PTG group of slightly less than TFA group between the two groups was statistically significant(P <0.05),the offset distance in the root canal at the apical 3,5,8,10 mm volume was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).2.Comparing the canal centring ratio of the two group on the same cross-section as measured from the apical two axes heart rate less, the difference was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).3.Comparing the cleaning effect of the two group there was no significant difference in score of smear layer at the root coronal 1/3,the middle 1/3 and the apical 1/3 in Group PTG and TFA.Conclusion:PTG with TFA all show good shapig ability and can better maintain the original shape to the root canal, but Group PTG do better than Group TFA in the apical on maintain the original shape.PTG and TFA can effectively remove root canal smear layer and debris.
