Objective TO assess the outcome of sacrum alae screws for lumbosacral degenerative diseases.Methods Between Jan 2011 and June 2015,14 cases suffering from lumbosacral received sacrum alae screws fixation in our hospital.Clinical outcomes were assessed by Oswestry disability index(ODI)?Visual analogue scale(VAS)and Japanese Orthopedic Association(JOA)score.All data received were analyzed by SPSS 20.0 and student-test.Results Clinical symptoms of patients who were received sacrum alae screws fixation were palliative.Period of follow up was not less than 6 months and no pseudoarticulation formation and neurofunction deterioration was found.The average JOA score before the patient received the surgery is 13.64±1.91.And the score became 26.43±1.34 mouth ago after the surgery.The average VAS score before the patient received the surgery is 9.57±0.94.And the score became 4.00±0.68 6 mouth ago after the surgery.The average ODI score before the patient received the surgery is 72.43±5.33.And the score became 15.29±6.06 6 mouth ago after the surgery.Conclusion Sacrum alae screws fixation for lumbosacral degenerative diseases is a simple?reliable method to cure lumbosacral degenerative diseases.
