Clinical Study On Curative Effect Of Treating Kidney Yin Deficiency Syndrome Of Vascular Dementia By Coordiating Heart And Kidney Principle

Objective: Through the observation of vascular dementia(VD)patients of mini-mental state examination(MMSE)rating scale,the activity of daily living(ADL)scale score and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scale score changes before and after treatment,to evaluate the clinical effect of treating kidney yin deficiency syndrome of VD by coordiating heart and kidney principle.Methods: During September 2014 to November 2015,60 VD patients were collected from outpatients of Neurology Department,First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine.All participants were in accordance with VD diagnositic criteria.The patients were numbered by registration order,randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group,30 patients each.Control group patients were given Donepezil Hyd5 mg,every night before bed.The treatment group treated in the control group in the foundation,adding some herbs with the function of coordiating heart and kidney(including Hulian 9g,Rougui 3g,Huangqin 10 g,Ejiao 6g,Baishao 10 g,Shudihuang 24 g,Shanyao 10 g,Gouqi 10 g,Lujiaojiao 6g,Guibanjiao 10 g,Chuangniuxi 10 g,Shanzhuyu 12 g and 1 Jizihuang).Patients with hyperglycemia,hypertension,coronary heart disease,hyperlipidemia in both groups should give medical treatment of controling blood sugar,blood pressure,lipid plaques and platelet aggregation.Paitients were treated for 3courses with 1 month in a couse.VD patients' MMSE score,ADL score and TCM syndrome score changes were recorded before and after treatment inboth groups.SPSS16.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Results:(1)MMSE score: Compared with before treatment,the MMSE scores of treatment group after treatment of 1 month,2months,3 months were significant higher(P<0.01).Also,the MMSE scores of control group after treatment of 1 month,2months,3 months were higher(P<0.05).(2)ADL score: Compared with before treatment,the ADL scores of treatment group after treatment of 1 month,2months,3 months were significant higher(P<0.01).The ADL scores of control group after treatment of 1 month,2months,3 months were also higher(P<0.05).(3)TCM syndrome score:Compared with before treatment,the TCM syndrome scores of treatment group after treatment of 1 month,2months,3 months were significant higher(P<0.01).The TCM syndrome scores of control group after treatment of 1month,2months,3 months were also higher(P<0.05).(4)Syndrome curative effect comparison: The total effective rate of the treatment group and control group were 90.00%,66.67%,respectively.There was significant difference between the two groups on the total effective rate(P<0.05).(5)Safety assessment: Comparison of blood routine,urine routine and tests of the liver and kidney functions showed no obvious changes(P>0.05).Conclusions:(1)The method of coordinating heart and kidney on treating kidney yin deficiency syndrome of VD had exact curative effect;(2)This therapy was better than donepezil Hyd treatment alone on the aspect of improving the curative effect of VD as well as improving patients' intelligence,activities of daily life abilities and TCM syndromes.
