Clinical Case Report Of The Removable Denture Repair And Analyze The Common Causes

Background : With the rapid development of social economy and the continuous improvement of people's living standard,the process of old-age population shows an accelerating tendency.The growing elderly population causes the rising of tooth loss.For patients with missing teeth,especially the elderly,most of them select the removable denture,which needs less grind and cost,to appropriate their oral conditions and economic position.After using period of time,as the oral tissue is changed,denture design is error,clinical operation is not standard,repair materials are improper,the using method is wrong,and so on,the denture may be broken or not suitable,which can influence the effects of the restorations and using.For the denture,which meets the requirements of the repair treatment,can be used after repair.But on the contrary,the denture,which can not meet the requirements,can be used as the temporary denture during the period of re-production.Compare with re-making,repairing the denture use less time,lighten the economic burden of patients and make it easy to adapt.Check and analyze the causes of the damage and discomfort of the removable denture,has the significance for the design optimization,quality improvement,use rationalization and the restoration.Objection:Analyzed and discussed the common causes and the methods of removable dentures on repairing,to guide the design,production and using,and ensure the restoration treatment.Methods : Collect 58 patients from March 2014 to January 2016 to our hospital requirements denture repair(37 males and 21 female,aged from 43 to 89),63 cases in total(21 cases of base plate fracture or broken,17 cases of artificial teeth fracture or broken,15 cases of add artificial teeth,6 cases of relined and 4 cases of clasp or connector fracture).Realized the self-reported symptoms,clinical history,clinical examination of the patients,and analyzed the causes of the broken denture,then repaired the denture after adequate communication with patients.After 3~6 months,selected 6 typical cases to check and realize the clinical effect of the denture and the patients' satisfaction after repaired.Results: 5 of the 6 patients' denture achieve good clinical effects of restoration after the repair.4 of them gain good effectiveness in retention,stabilizing and the mastication function recovery.The phenomenon on food accumulated below the denture is solved.1case has apparent tenderness on the tissue surface after repair,through the grinding to restore.Only 1 case can not gain good effective in retention,stabilizing and the mastication function,because only one abutment left to provide the stability and retention.6 patients expressed satisfaction with the repair effect after 3~6 months.Conclusion: Repairing the removable denture on the base of checking and analyzing the causes,can restore the prostheses effect of the denture.It also has the significance for the design optimization,quality improvement,use rationalization and ensure the restoration treatment.
