BackgroundPatients with various cardiovascular diseases are often the victims of heart failure(HF),the clinical treatment of this syndrome is helpless which has become a major difficulty and focus of treatment.Although there have been new drug development use,as well as CRT and ICD intervention to improve survival rates, but the overall long-term prognosis is still very poor. The most effective way is heart transplantation. In addition, since the in-depth study of cell regeneration studies, stem cells are put on the agenda.Stem cell research has gone from bone marrow stem cells into the peripheral stem cells, and then into human umbilical cord blood stem cells. With complementary, new advances in medical technology to try to enrich the theory, interdisciplinary, new exploration will be continued with.In recent years, along with large-scale,randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled,multi-center study of continuous optimization of development and migration policies, the technology continues to mature,it is actively hot treating heart disease.ObjectiveAnalyzed retrospectively the clinical efficacy of intravenous infusion of human umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of heart failure(HF).Methods80 patients with HF who were admitted to my First Affiliated Hospital from December 2011 to December 2013 were selected. They were randomly assigned to two groups, with 40 patients in each group. The control group was given the standard therapy of heart failure(HF);the treatment group was given the standard therapy of HF + intravenous infusion of human umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stem cells;the average follow-up period was 24 months, and changes of clinical efficacy, prognosis, rehospitalization rate, heart function index and B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP)level were observed in each group during the treatment period.ResultsDuring the treatment, there were 10 deaths in the control group, and 6 deaths in the treatment group;the re-hospitalization rate in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group(35.0% vs 45.0%,P<0.05),and the effective rate in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group(90.0% vs 72.5%,P<0.05);Comparison of cardiac function after treatment,in the treatment group LVEF(Left ventricular ejection fraction,LVEF)was significantly higher than that before treatment, the inner diameter of the left ventricular end-systolic(Left ventricular end-systolic diameter,LVESD),left ventricular end-diastolic inner diameter(Left ventricular end-diastolic diameter,LVEDD)and BNP levels significantly lower than those before treatment;also, the above indices in the treatment group after the treatment significantly improved compared with those in the control group during the same period of time(LVEF: 46.98± 10.20 vs 42.15±8.14,LVESD(mm): 44.93±9.71 vs 49.15±9.21,LVEDD(mm): 54.88±9.54 vs 61.53±9.95,BNP(ng/L): 692.50 vs 971.50,all P<0.05).ConclusionIntravenous infusion of human umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of heart failure had a certain effect.
