Von Willebrand disease is a common hereditary hemorrhagic disease. The roles of von willebrand factor A1 domain and platelet ligand GPIb? in blood flow and in the process of coagulation remain unclear. The relationship between their reaction rate and force was proposed to be either a catch bond or a flex bond. In this paper we pointed out that Kim et al. in the analysis of the clamp experimental data used a special solution to the kinetic equations. Then we applied two methods to analyze the rupture force experiments on single von Willebrand factor and derived the relationship between force and forward reaction rate. We found out that catch bond may exist in the A1-GPIb? interaction. We also proposed an explanation for the microscopic model of a single receptor and the ligand experiment.
