Objective To discuss the change of plasma cortisol and24h urinary free cortisol?24hUFC?in elderly female patients with type2diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients and therelationship between glucose metabolism. Methods Collecting120cases of age>60female patients with T2DM?average age(66.21±5.35). Acording to glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in two groups at age>60group?HbA1c>7%group of70patients, average age (67.21±6.31)?HbA1c?7%group of50patients, average age(65.93±4.40). According to the cholesterol in two groups?highcholesterol group of68patients, average age (67.14±5.74),normal cholesterol group of52patients, average age (66.59±6.96).(4)50cases age>60of healthy female as normal controlgroup, average age (66.59±6.96). Analysis the changes of plasma cortisol and24h urinaryfree cortisol.Results1.Plasma cortisol and24hUFC were significantly higher in age>60group than those innormal control group (P<0.01).2.24hUFC, FPG were significantly higher in HbA1c>7%group than those in HbA1c?7%group (P<0.05).3.Plasma cortisol,HbA1c,FPG,HOMA-IR were significantly higher in high cholesterol groupthan those in normal cholesterol group (P<0.05).4.Age>60group patients'plasma cortisol and FPG, HbA1c, TRIG,CHOL,LDL-C werepositively correlated (P <0.05).Conclusion1. This study shows that plasma cortisol of elderly women patients with T2DM are significantly higher.2.Blood glucose and cortisol eract as both cause and effect,Good blood glucose, cholesterolcontrol, monitoring of cortisol can improve the condition of elderly women patients withT2DM.
