The concentration of glutathion(GSH)and phytochelations(PCs)were closely related to cadmium tolerance and accumulation in rice,and their biosynthesis could be restrained by buthionine sulfoxinmine(BSO)in theory.For exloring the technology to reducing the Cd in rice which grew in cadmium polluted field,this article chose two rice cultivars—one high cadmium accumulating cultivar(HCAV),and the other low cadmium accumulation cultivar(LCAV)— and through two ways— soil and water culture to research impacts from different BSO consistence and spraying time to the related indexs of Cd tolerance and accumulation.Following were the results:The cadmium tolerance ability of LCAV was stronger than HCAV,and mainly manifested as had significantly more chlorphyll,root and total GSH,root,leaf and total NPT(total non-protein thiol),leaf and total PCs than HCAV.And foliar spraying BSO had no effect on the chlorphyll content of HCAV and LCAV leaf.Spraying 5.0?mol/L BSO to HCAV could improve it's Cd tolerance,while 15.0?mol/L BSO could make it keep lower Cd in tassel and total plant at milk and maturation stage.At the same time,3 kinds of solution with different BSO consistence all could improve the tolerance ability of LCAV to Cd differently;and among them,the 10.0?mol/L BSO could not only strengthen the Cd tolerance,but also make the Cd absorption,accumulation and distribution at relatively optimal level.Moreover,spraying the BSO(10.0?mol/L)only at milk preiod was relatively propitious to making the HCAV keep greater Cd tolerance,and remarkably reduced the Cd consistence in root,culm and total plant at milk stage,meanwhile,the leaf and tassel Cd had not significant difference with CK.While,spraying BSO at tillering and milk time was better to cutting down the root,culm and total Cd consistence of HCAV at maturation period remarkably and highlyremarkably,and kept the tassel Cd had not sigificant difference with CK also.In addition,spraying the BSO only at milk also could keep the Cd in LCAV not add(compared with CK)and improve its tolerance to the metal.And the results of correlation analysis showed that: there were significant positive correlation between Cd and GSH consistence in root and culm of rice,but not between Cd and PCs.And the significant relationship was not found between Cd and PCs in rice root,culm and leaf mostly at all sampling time.While the tassel Cd content at pustualtion and maturation stage had a highlysignificantly positive correlation with shoot GSH consistence and extremely remarkably negative correlation with culm PCs at milk time in hydroponics test;and in soilculture test,they had a extremely-significantly and significantly positive relationship with culm GSH content respectively,and a highly-remarkably and remarkably negative correlation with leaf PCs consistence separately.All of these might show that: GSH had a important role in Cd absorption,transporation and distribution in rice,and more important than PCs.Furthermore,the PCs might not the main transporter of Cd long distance transport between root and shoot in rice.
