The purpose of this study was to find out the differences in slaughter performance,meat quality between Laiwu black rabbit and Eira rabbit and to find out the differences in gene expression between Laiwu black rabbit and Sichuan white rabbit,Fujian yellow rabbit,southwestern Fujian black rabbit,Japanese big ear rabbit,New Zealand rabbit,California rabbit,wool rabbit,Rex rabbit.According to the results,we can provide a theoretical basis for the development of Laiwu black rabbits.From Sichuan,Fujian and Shandong provinces,nine varieties of ear tissues,including Sichuan White Rabbit,Fujian Yellow Rabbit,Southwest Fujian Black Rabbit,Japanese Big ear Rabbit,New Zealand Rabbit,California Rabbit,Wool Rabbit,Rex Rabbit,Laiwu Black Rabbit,etc.,were taken.A comparative study of genome sequencing was carried out.The phylogenetic tree and PCA showed that the relationship between Laiwu black rabbit and other rabbits was far away.The relationship between Laiwu black rabbit and New Zealand rabbit was relatively close,followed by Fujian yellow rabbit,southwestern Fujian black rabbit,Sichuan white rabbit,California rabbit,New Zealand rabbit,Rex rabbit,Japanese big ear rabbit and long-haired rabbit.Ten healthy rabbits from 30 d Laiwu black rabbits and Eira rabbits(male and female)were randomly selected and fed for 1 weeks,and the experimental period was 6 weeks.The results showed that the live weight(P=0.005),slaughtering weight(P=0.038),half bore rate(P=0.031),total yield(P=0.013),net meat rate(P=0.019),relative skin weight(P=0.006)and fat relative weight of the rabbits(P=0.001)in Eira rabbit were significantly higher than those of the Laiwu black rabbits.The slaughtering rate(P<0.001),relative weight of liver(P=0.02),relative weight of stomach(P<0.001),relative weight of small intestine(P<0.001),relative weight of stomach contents(P<0.001)and relative weight of cecal contents(P<0.001)in Laiwu black rabbits were significantly higher than those in Eira rabbits.The meat color brightness of L*(P=0.017)and b*(P=0.001)of the longissimus dorsi muscle of Laiwu black rabbit was significantly higher than that of Eira rabbit.The drip loss of rabbit longissimus muscle(P=0.001)in Eira rabbit was significantly higher than that of Laiwu black rabbit drip loss.The dry matter(P<0.001)and crude protein(P<0.001)of the longissimus dorsi muscle in Eira rabbits were significantly higher than those of the Laiwu black rabbit.The total cholesterol content of the longissimus dorsi muscle(P<0.001)of Eira rabbit was significantly higher than that of the Laiwu black rabbit.The content of fatty acids,including C16:1(P=0.003),C18:3n3(P=0.028)?C20:2(P=0.004),C20:3n6(P=0.035)in the longissimus dorsi muscle of Eira meat rabbit was significantly higher than that of Laiwu black rabbit.The content of fatty acid,including C21:0(P<0.001)in the longissimus dorsi muscle of Laiwu black rabbit was significantly higher than that of Eira meat rabbit.In conclusion,the genetic relationship between Laiwu black rabbit and other common rabbit varieties is far away,and it has its own characteristics in meat quality and meets the basic requirements of new breed identification on the whole level.
