Investigation And Analysis Of The Status Of Ancient And Famous Trees In The Main Urban Area Of Shaoxing City

Shaoxing city has a wide variety of ancient and famous trees resources.The existence of ancient and famous trees is a unique and beautiful scenery in Shaoxing.With the rapid development of society and economy,many ancient and famous trees in Shaoxing city have been cut down illegally,destroyed or died due to diseases and insect pests caused by inadequate maintenance and management.The resources of ancient and famous trees have been seriously threatened.In this paper,the basic situation of ancient and famous trees in the main urban area of Shaoxing city was investigated and studied.The species,distribution,ownership and growth situation of ancient and famous trees in the main urban area of Shaoxing city were analyzed comprehensively.The reasons that influence the survival of ancient and famous trees are discovered in time,the problems and difficulties in the protection and management of ancient and famous trees are summarized,and some suggestions are put forward.This provides an effective reference for the protection and management of ancient and famous trees and the inheritance and development of ancient and famous wood culture in the main urban area of Shaoxing.The main findings are as follows:(1)Investigation on the number of ancient and famous trees in main district of Shaoxing city: as of 2017,there were 11940 ancient and famous trees(11701 survivors)in the main urban area of Shaoxing city after fieldwork and date collation.There were 2584 old trees,3 famous trees and 116 ancient trees(9353strains)in total.There are 38 ancient trees with more than 1000-year-old age among the old and famous trees that are alive today.There were 796 first-grade old trees,2443 second-grade old trees and 8462 third-grade old trees.(2)The species and distribution of ancient and famous trees in the main urban area of Shaoxing city were investigated and analyzed.Ancient and famous trees belonging to 30 families,51 genera and 59 species in the main city of Shaoxing city.A total of 9687 Taxaceae strains,accounting for 81.13% of the total,were followed by Lauraceae,Hamamelidaceae and Oleaceae.The largest number of genera were Ulmaceae,Rosaceae,Leguminosae and Cupressaceae.The largest number of species was the Cupressaceae.In the main urban area of Shaoxing,there were many ancient trees and famous trees distributed in the Huiji Mountains and scattered in the plain urban areas,showing the characteristics of whole and local centralization.(3)The present situation of the management and protection of ancient and famous trees in the main urban area of Shaoxing city was analyzed.According to the location of ancient and famous trees,the first responsible department,unit or individual of the protection and management shall be determined accordingly.At present,due to the lack of management and protection funds,the relevant responsible units can not carry out effective management and protection work,resulting in the protection and management of ancient trees and trees in the form of a serious impact on the normal growth of ancient and famous trees.(4)According to the investigation of the growth potential of ancient and famous trees in the main urban area of Shaoxing,the reasons for the poor growth of ancient and famous trees were analyzed.Based on the present situation of management of the ancient and famous trees in the main urban area of Shaoxing,this paper summarizes the problems and difficulties in the protection and management of ancient and famous trees,and puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions.
