As peanut,a major oil source and also a kind of commercial crop, has its important economic value, further studies on peanut genome have significance in terms of scientific value and economy. The completion of gene sequencing of two diploid ancestral wild species of peanut, has provided genome data material to studies on gene conversion within repetitive genes of peanut. With alfalfa-an important model plant in legume as the outgroup, this subject carries out a systematic all-genome comparative analysis on the two ancestral species of peanut.Afterwards, based on the gene homology colinearity of homologous chromosome fragments, this study makes a statistical inference of the scale of the repetitive genes generating from polyploidization within peanut genome.Alfalfa is 12.2%(7286),peanut A is 14.4%(5167),and peanut B is 12.5%(5202).Meanwhile,a detailed similarity structure analysis of the homologous relationship among the genomes is conducted, and a list of multiple secondary gene alignment which is based on alfalfa and related to polyploidization is constructed. The study found that the loss of duplicated genes in the genes of the species after duplication is a random process, which approximates to geometric distribution.A conversion algorithm to deduce duplicated genes is established. And by using Clustalw and PAML integrated with Perl and Bioperl languages, the gene conversion deduction among the duplicated genes in the whole-genome of the species is achieved. The deduction results showed that in the genomes of peanut A and peanut B,gene conversion happens to 2.8%(135)and 2.6%(147)of the respective duplicated genes during evolution.Gene conversion may be more biased in some functional genes. The method and process established in this study are convenient to be popularized for exploration and research on genome polyploidization of other species and on genetic recombination among homologous chromosomes segments;the reseach results theoretically support the related research field of peanut genome.
