In order to study degradation efficiency of water hyacinth juice using three different types of anaerobic digestion reactor, the comparative experiments were performed at ambient temperature(5~32?).The results showed that the mode of start-up that water hyacinth juice recycling in and out reactor of UASB,EGSB and IC was practicable and high efficient when the influence of COD was about 20000 mg/L.The optimal OLR of UASB reactor was 8.85 kg COD/(m~3·d),The HRT was 2d,the COD removal efficiency was 86.55%,the biogas production rate and methane content was 1.60 m~3/(m~3·d)and 72%,and the methane conversion rate was 0.149 m~3/kg,when the HRT was 5.2 d and the OLR was 3.23 kg COD/(m~3·d),the COD removal efficiency was more than 90%;The optimal OLR of EGSB reactor was 14.27 kg COD/(m~3·d),The HRT was 1.1 d,the COD removal efficiency was 83.18%,the biogas production rate and methane content was 2.71 m~3/(m~3·d)and 74%,and the methane conversion rate was 0.168 m~3/kg;The optimal OLR of IC reactor was 17.93 kg COD/(m~3·d),The HRT was 0.9 d,the COD removal efficiency was 82.84%,the biogas production rate and methane content was 3.92 m~3/(m~3·d)and 78%,and the methane conversion rate was 0.210 m~3/kg,when the HRT was 1.4d and the OLR was11.16 kg COD/(m~3·d),the COD removal efficiency was more than 90%.IC reactor was the optimum processing for degradation of water hyacinth juice now, which compared with the EGSB reactor and the UASB reactor and CSTR reactor, the tank volume can be saved about 20% and 50% and 70% treating the same amount of sewage respectively, which greatly reduces the engineering investment and the area of projection.
