Welfare Breeding Technology Of Huai Pig

The present study was conducted to the welfare problems in Huai pig breeding process,such as piglet tails cut teeth,pregnant sows in crates feeding,through environmental enrichment(music,bedding,toys),antibiotics and other alternative evaluation Huai pig welfare growth process with a view to exploring the best welfare rearing technology of Huai pig.1 Influence of group and crates feeding on the level of benefits and fecundity of Huai sowIn this experiment,ethology,cortisol and recording calving situations of 30 sows were the index to evaluate the differences between two different modes of raising the level of benefits.The test results showed that the crates were significantly higher than the group.The crates group was significantly higher than the group on the cortisol levels in late pregnancy.The crates was significantly higher than the group on Dog sitting,chewing.This indicates that crates has lower welfare of huai pig than group-housed systems.2 The impact of the type of music for the welfare of weaned pigsIn this experiment,three different types of music:rock,classical music and light music were played to weaned piglets.Behaviour and level of cortisol as an indicator to evaluate the impact of different types of music on the welfare of weaned pigs.The results showed in the group light music there was a significant increased playing and lying behavior,significantly reduced the occurrence of biting addiction behavior,significantly reduced cortisol levels than the other three groups.This suggesting that the type of light music have some help to improve the welfare of weaned piglets3 Influence of Weaned litter welfare standardsThis study was explored which amount of straw more effective for the welfare of piglets.The results shows that the group of 2Kg has significant weight gain,significantly reduced of cortisol levels,significantly reduced for manipulation companion,which indicates the piglets were in good level of welfare under this added amount.4 The impact of the type and amount of toys for the welfare of weaned pigsThis study was to explore the best combination from different types of toys and quantity to improve animal welfare.The test lasts 30days.Results found that adding toys had no significant effect on growth.Hanging toys,added in an amount of 4 was the best combination which significantly reduce the incidence of the battle.5 The impact of cutting teeth on the tails of piglets welfareIn this experiment,the nest test,through the growth and behavior of lactating pigs learn to judge the level of welfare of piglets.Results found that cutting teeth and tails of weaning weight had no significantly effcets on the growth and most behavior This indicated that it is not necessary to cutting teeth and tail for piglets of Huai.6 Impact of alternatives to antibiotics for diarrhea in weaned pigletsThe trial of three antibiotics chosen alternatives:oregano oil,lactobacillus plants,plant extracts.The test time were 30 days and diarrhea,piglet growth rate and nutrient digestibility as indicators to explore alternative antibiotic effect.Results shows that the three antibiotics alternatives has no significant impacts on reducing diarrhea rate,but a significant increase in mortality.There may be limited effects as the alternative to antibiotic.
