At present, the industry of alfalfa hay in our country is developing at a rapid speed. But,the quality of alfalfa hay is comparatively lower by reasons of poor scientific consciousness and insufficient technology application, which result in that the alfalfa hay made in our country is lack of competiveness in the word, and high quality alfalfa hay depends on import. In order to research the reasons why the quality of alfalfa hay we made is lower, this research was carried out through exploring the loss of nutrition in alfalfa during every process when being harvested and produced in the field. And this paper also analyzed the key link to ensure the quality of alfalfa hay, which may be applied in practice as a guidance for alfalfa producers and push the alfalfa industry develop towards refinement.Based on the test results and analysis, this research's conclusions are as follows:(1)The annual yield loss rate increased with the increasing of stubble height(compared with the yield of stubble height 0?2cm),the highest yield loss rate is 14.32%(at stubble height of 8?11cm),significantly higher than other stubble height(P<0.05),the yield loss rate at stubble heights of 2?5cm and 5?8cm are 3.47%and 6.01%,there is no significant difference between this two(P>0.05).(2)Comparing the stem-leaf ratio, the first crop>the second crop>the third crop. With the increasing of stubble height, the stem-leaf ratio decreased.Compared with the leaf rate of 8-11cm stubble height, the highest leaf loss rate in all stubbls is at 0-2cm(12.78%,15.72%,15.01%),but when reaping alfafa at stubble height of 5-8cm,the leaf loss not significantly;when the stubble height increased, the content of CP in alfalfa decreased, the highest CP loss rate occurred at stubble height of 0-2cm(14.01%?11.09%?8.66%)compared with 8-11cm,the highest RFV loss rate is the same(7.05%?14.93%?16.37%).(3)Compared with the CP content and leaf content before raking, the CP and leaf lost significantly. When raking alfalfa at 21:00 at three stubble, the leaf loss rate(5.76%?17.96%?7.86%)was the lowest;when raking alfalfa at different stubble, the lowest CP loss rate occurred at 21:00 at first crop(6.72%)?6:00 at second crop(4.75%)and 21:00 at third crop(4.49%);the lowest RFV loss rate occurred at 6:00 of first crop(1.94%)?21:00 of second crop(3.95%)and 21:00 of third crop(0.61%)(4)Compared with the CP content?leaf content and RFV before bundling, the loss rate was significant after bundling. In a whole day, bundling at 6:00,the leaf loss rate were lowest at three stubble(35,74%?24.92%?13.00%);the lowest CP loss rate occurred at 21:00(first crop,7.69%)?6:00(second crop,8.99%)?6:00(third crop,11.98%);when bundling at 6:00(first crop)?9:00(second crop)?6:00(third crop),the RFV loss rate 12.34%?9.14%?7.53%respectively which were the lowest in a whole day.(5)According to the results,in order to get high quality alfalfa hay,it is recommended that we should cut alfalfa at stubble height of 8?11cm,ranking after 21:00,and bundling before 6:00.
