Calligonum mongolicum which is belonging to Calligonum of Polygonaceae is the most widely distributed species in China;it is one of the important building groups in arid desert region.Based on analyzing the distribution state of Calligonum mongolicum in Inner Mongolian,we studied the distribution,community characteristics and species diversity of Calligonum of Polygonaceae in this area,by using the the methods of field survey and analyzing the species diversity index and spatial point pattern,The specific objectives were:(1)to provide basic data for studying the survival status,resource conservation and rational utilization of Calligonum mongolicum,(2)to provide theoretical basis for identification of the habitat of artificial communities and the configuration of species of Calligonum mongolicum.The results showed that:(1)The plant categories buildup of Calligonum mongolicum community are sparse,species diversity level are lower,totally 54 spermatophytes,belong to 13 families and 43 genera.Chenopodiaceae are bigger among them,which are 10 genera and 11 species.Zygophyllaceae and Compositae are the second,5 genera and 8 species and 4 genera and 8species respectively.(2)Vertical structure of Calligonum mongolicum are sample,interstratum plants are sparse,made up by arborous layer,shrub layer and field layer which are more and accounted for 59.26%of the total,arborous and shrub layer accounted for 40.74%.In Calligonum mongolicum,the most important value of Haloxylon ammodendron are maximum among arborous layer,shrub layer are Overlord.(3)The order of Calligonum mongolicum important value of 6 of Calligonum mongolicum community from big to small is Hangjin Banner r>Alashan You Banner>Wulate Hou Banner>Etuoke Banner>Alashan Zuo Banne>Erlianhaote City.(4)From different communities in Inner Mongolia area,the species diversity level is low,and the population pattern of Calligonum mongolicum's differences are showed in the levels of species diversity.Community similarity coefficient is between 0.111-0.304,they did not reach the intermediate level.(5)Different patterns of Calligonum mongolicum have difference,but general characteristic are randomly at small scale,gather at large scale.Group aggregation's order from big to small is Wulate Hou Banner>Hangjin Banner>Alashan Zuo Banner>Alashan You Banner>Etuoke Banner>Erlianhaote City.(6)Shoot and stubbing shows negative correlations,but they change from negative correlations to positive correlation with the increase of scale in different Calligonum mongolicum community.Which indicate seed dispersal or vegetative propagation tend to keep distance with mother,however higher habitat heterogeneity may shrink the distance.(7)Analysis on dominant or constructive tree species of spatial pattern indicate:community stability in Erlanhaote,Hangjingqi and Alashanzuoqi are relatively higher,which community stability in Wulateqianqi,Etuokeqi and Alashanyouqi are lesser.Spatial association analysis indicate:different Calligonum mongolicum community shows positive correlation with dominant tree species,which explain Calligonum mongolicum play an important role on community stability.
