With the acceleration of the urbanization process and the increase in energy consumption,air pollution has become a serious urban environmental problem.Atmospheric Particulate Matters are divided into Total Suspended Particulate(TSP),Inhalable Particles(PM10)and Fine Particles(PM2.5).Among them,PM10 is easy to be inhaled into the nasal cavity and oral cavity;PM2.5 is more harmful to human health,and can directly enter the alveolar and blood system,leading to the occurrence of cardiovascular disease and other diseases.Landscape plants can absorb atmospheric particulate matter,purify the air,and improve the urban environment.At present,it is not entirely dependent on pollution source control to solve environmental problems,but plants' dust-retention is an effective way to alleviate the air pollution,and herbaceous plants as an essential part of urban greening,also has an important ecological role.Therefore,this study selected herbs commonly used in Fuzhou City,using the method of combining weighing several levels of filtrated membranes,measured and calculated total particulate matter,D10(Particle size of particulate matter less than 10 microns)and D2.5(Particle size of particulate matter less than 2.5 microns)retention per unit leaf area,determine the variation of dust quantity in terms of time and space,investigate the adsorption ability of different herbaceous plants on the particle size of different particle size,and the leaves of villi,gully was observed by microscope,further studies on the mechanism of herbaceous plant dust.Clear the dust retention effect of herbaceous plants,and recommend the application to Fuzhou's excellent dust herbs.The main results are as follows:(1)There were significant differences between different herbs stranded particles ability.Herb's per unit leaf area of particulate matter,D10 and D2.5 retention capacity of ranking is not exactly the same,but the gap is smaller.Zoysia matrella,Ophiopogon japonicus,Alocasia macrorrhiza,Hymenocallis Spciosa,rachelospermum jasminoides retention particulate matter ability is good,Musa basjoo,Monstera deliciosa,Canna indica of the stranded particles ability is weak.(2)The same herb's per unit leaf area of particulate matter capacity increase with the increase of time,and the proportion of the foliar dust of most herbaceous plants in particle size of less than 2.5 microns and less than 10 microns increases with the time increasing.Unit leaf area were stranded in all the year round particles in the order of general performance for summer,spring>winter,autumn,and particle size of less than 2.5 microns and less than 10 microns of the percentage of the particulate matter is the biggest in the autumn.(3)The same herb's per unit leaf area of particulate matter capacity in different regions most represented from big to small were the Baima road,Minjiang Avenue,West Riverside Avenue,West Third Ring Road,but particle size of less than 2.5 microns and less than 10 microns of the percentage of the particulate matter is the bigger on Minjiang Avenue and West Riverside Avenue;the closer distance road,the greater the amount of particulate matter of plant unit leaf area were stranded,and the closer distance road,the great the percentage of foliar dust less than 2.5 microns and 10 microns particle size;the results of the four herbs indicated that most of particucate matter was retained when the leaf angle was between 60°?90°,with the other three angles did not show the same law.(4)Different herbs maximum retention of particles ability difference is significant.Use different measurement units,differences between plant dust detentions of sorting.(5)The leaf surface structure affects dust retention ability of plants.Thick leaves,leaves with gully,with a tumor like protrusion of herb plant dust retention ability strong,and the glossy leaves,herbs with near vertical blades dust retention ability weak.(6)The foliar dust of herb is mainly particle size of less than 2.5 microns.
