Effects Of Seaweed Extract On The Seed Germination,Seedling Growth And Fruit Quality

In this study,the effects of seaweed fermentation extract and seaweed alkali extract on seed germination,seedling growth,fruit yield and quality were studied by seed soaking experiment,hydroponic experiment and greenhouse experiment.The results were showed as follows:1.The effects of two kinds of seaweed extracts on the seed germination of cowpea(Vigna unguiculata),soybean(Giycine max),wheat(Triticum aestivum L.),rape(Brassica campestris L.),cucumber(Cucumis sativus),tomato(Solanum lycopersicum)were studied.The results showed that compared with the water control,seaweed fermentation extract with 100 times dilution have significant differences on seed germination rate of wheat and tomato,increased by 11.24 % and 14.29 %,respectively,and the seed germination rate of tomato increased by 0.25 % compared with 1000 times dilution of Seasol seaweed fertilizer.With 200 times dilution have significant differences on seed germination rate of cowpea,soybean,rape and cucumber,increased by 19.44 %,18.54 %,15.50 % and 6.43 %,respectively,and the seed germination rate of cucumber increased by 1.25 % compared with 1000 times dilution of Seasol seaweed fertilizer.Seaweed alkali extract with 100 times dilution have significant differences on seed germination rate of soybean,increased by 18.54 %,with 200 times dilution have significant differences on seed germination rate of cowpea,wheat and cucumber,increased by 14.22 %,10.06 % and 5.97 %,respectively,and the seed germination rate of cucumber increased by 0.83 % compared with 1000 times dilution of Seasol seaweed fertilizer.With 400 times dilution have significant differences on seed germination rate of rape and tomato,increased by 11.83 % and 12.61 %,respectively.2.The effects of two kinds of seaweed extracts on the seedling growth of cowpea(Vigna unguiculata),wheat(Triticum aestivum L.),cucumber(Cucumis sativus),tomato(Solanum lycopersicum)were studied.The results showed that compared with the water control,seaweed fermentation extract with 100 and 200 times dilution have the best significance on the growth of cowpea,wheat,cucumber and tomato with the root length,shoot length,fresh weight,dry weight,stem diameter,root-shoot ratio increased greatly.In addition,the root length and shoot length of cowpea increased by 100 times and 200 times dilution compared with 1000 times dilution of Seasol seaweed fertilizer.The root length of wheat and cucumber increased by 100 times dilution,the shoot length of cucumber increased by 100 and 200 times dilution compared with 1000 times dilution of Seasol seaweed fertilizer.The root length and shoot length of tomato increased by 100 and 200 times dilution compared with 1000 times dilution of Seasol seaweed fertilizer.Seaweed alkali extract with 200 and 400 times dilution have the best significance on the growth of cowpea,wheat and cucumber,with 400 and 600 times dilution have the best significance on the growth of tomato,and the root length,shoot length,fresh weight,dry weight,stem diameter,root-shoot ratio increased greatly.In addition,the root length of wheat and the shoot length of cucumber increased by 200 and 400 times dilution,the shoot length of wheat increased by 200 times dilution compared with 1000 times dilution of Seasol seaweed fertilizer.The root length of tomato increased by 400 times dilution and the shoot length of tomato increased by 200,600,800 times dilution compared with 1000 times dilution of Seasol seaweed fertilizer.3.The effects of seaweed fermentation extract on the fruit yield and quality of hot pepper(Capsicum annuum L.),tomato(Lycopersicon esculintum Mill),rape(Brassica campestris L.),Chinese chives(Allium tuberosum Rottler ex Spreng)were studied.The results showed that compared with the water control,seaweed fermentation extract with 400 times dilution have the best significance on the fruit yield and quality of hot pepper,the yield,soluble sugar,soluble protein and VC increased by 20.34 %,38.34 %,15.77 %,46.46 %,respectively,and increased by 5.53 %,11.11 %,7.14 %,21.95 % compared with 1000 times dilution of Marine Oligosaccharide Combination.With 100 times dilution have the best significance on the fruit yield and quality of tomato,the yield,soluble sugar,soluble protein,VC,soluble solid increased by 20.70 %,28.64 %,35.06 %,52.27 %,32.72 %,respectively.And the yield,soluble protein,soluble solid increased by 1.47 %、2.97 % 、 5.80 % compared with 1000 times dilution of Marine Oligosaccharide Combination.With 400 times dilution have the best significance on the fruit yield and quality of rape,the yield,soluble sugar,soluble protein and VC increased by 20.27 %,33.58 %,21.01 % and 56.77 %,respectively.And the soluble protein,VC increased by 1.21 %,0.49 % compared with 100 times dilution of Leili seaweed fertilizer.With 400 times dilution have the best significance on the fruit yield and quality of Chinese chives,the yield,soluble sugar,soluble protein and VC increased by 42.66 %,47.79 %,39.90 % and 37.48 %,respectively.And the yield,soluble sugar,soluble protein increased by 3.75 %,1.66 %,0.35 % compared with 100 times dilution of Leili seaweed fertilizer.
