The purpose of this experiment is to study the yield, the effects of water and nutrient utilization of different planting modes of spring maize in the rain-fed agriculture area of Loess Plateau. In order to find out the optimum cultivation pattern of Maize to take full advantage of soil moisture and nutrient.Promoting the growth of root and shoot, improving the potential of yield. To provide the theoretical and practical basis for the agriculture of Loess Plateau. The variety of maize is Zheng dan 958.Test was divided into two parts:(1)four kinds of comprehensive cultivation mode;(2)The effects of different planting density and fertilizer of maize yield, the water use efficiency(WUE)and fertilizer partial productivity. To sampling at the big trumpet period and the mature period of corn, measuring the plant height, stem diameter, leaf area index and biomass.what is more, maturing the yield and components of yield at the measure period.Measuring the soil moisture and nutrients in the laboratory.Calculating the partial productivity of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The main conclusions are as follows:1.Under the C cultivation mode, maize yield, water use efficiency was significantly higher than other modes. The leaf area index(LAI)of the modes of C and D was significantly higher than that of the other two modes, the number of spike increased significantly, thus increased the yield. But increased the planting density also reduced the biomass per plant and the grain weight per spike. In this experiment, the planting density increased gradually, combined the organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer could increace the yield, which was not affected by the decreace of grain weight. However, under the modes of C and D,the fertilizer partial productivity was low. That express the exceeding fertilization, and inferior nutrient utilization.2.Combined the organic fertilizer and planting density, there were no significant differences in yield and WUE,but significantly increased the number of spike and decreased the grain weight. When the fertilizer partial productivity was higher than the single application of inorganic fertilizer,it showed that the application of organic fertilizer could promote the absorption of inorganic fertilizer by plants.3.The traditional cultivation model(A)limits the growth and grain yield of the plant, also affected the full use of the limited water resources in the Loess Plateau region. So in the process of cultivation, increasing planting density, reasonable fertilization and mulching measures can effectively improve the grain yield of Maize in dry land, improve the utilization of soil moisture and nutrient. The utilization efficiency of fertilizer and water of the mode of 6Y is the best,C has the most yield in all patterns.
