Effects Of Plant Growth Promoters On The Growth And Stress Resistance Of Maize

Plant growth promoters could regulate plant growth and development process,and it is an important way to improve crop yield and quality through the use of them,also is an effective method to keep crops from adversity stress.Maize(Zea mays L.)is widely cultivated in our country,and during the reproductive period,there are a variety of non-biological threats,such as drought and salt,that inhibit the growth of maize and lead to the decrease of the production as well as quality.In this experiment we use gibberellin(GA3),indole-3-acetic acid(IAA),and brassinolide(BR)that widely used in agriculture which mix up in different proportions,and adopt the soil culture in pot to research the effects of these treatments on the growth,drought-resistant ability,and the salt resistance of maize seedlings,meanwhile we also make comparisons with two kinds plant growth promoters products on market under the different ratios.The main results were shown as follows:1)Plant growth promoters in spraying has the promoting effect on the growth of maize seedlings,which is related to the concentration and the ratios.The nine growth promoters which made up by myself all beneficial to the maize growth,especially for the stem length and biomass.Among the nine self-made promoters,the combination of GA3 100 mg/L,IAA 50 mg/L,and BR 0.05 mg/L had the optimum effect on growth promotion,and compared with the control the stem length and biomass increased 37.97% and 31.10% respectively.2)Drought stress study indicated that it inhibited the growth of maize seedlings.Spraying with four kind of plant growth promoters all increased the soluble sugar content to enhance the permeability ability of maize seedlings.The combination of GA3 100 mg/L,IAA 50 mg/L,and BR 0.05 mg/L,GA3 50 mg/L,IAA 50 mg/L,and BR 0.10 mg/L and BH 2500 dilution solution all increased the stem length and biomass of maize seedlings;And the combination of GA3 100 mg/L,IAA 50 mg/L,and BR 0.05 mg/L had the optimum effect on biomass compared with the control S0,which improved 14.64%.3)Salt stress study indicated that it inhibited the germination of maize seeds and the stem length and biomass.Seed soaking with the four kind of promoters all improved the germination of maize seeds and the seedling rate,meanwhile increased the permeability abilities of maize seedlings and decreased the MDA content,furthermore they improved the stem length and biomass;And the combination of GA3 50 mg/L,IAA 50 mg/L,and BR 0.10 mg/L had the best effect on biomass compared with the control S0,which improved 28.88%.In conclusion,the combination of GA3 100 mg/L,IAA 50 mg/L,and BR 0.05 mg/L and HR as well as BH all promoted the growth of maize seedlings,and increase the drought and salt resistance abilities,especially the effects of self-made promoters were superior to the products of HR and BH on the stem length,biomass,as well as the germination promotion.
