The major storage proteins in soybean seeds includeβ-conglycinins and glycinins.β-conglycinins consist of 76 kD a’,72 kDαand 52-54 kD P subunits.Glycinins are composed of 37-45kD acidic and 18-20kD basic components.The wild soybean and cultivated soybean germplasms in China are important proteinaceous resources.The wild soybean resources have various resistance and wide adaptability,compared with cultivated soybean resources,are diverse materials for excavating variousβ-conglycinins and glycinins in soybean seeds of genetic resources.The project for protection of the wild soybeans along the Hutuo River in Yuanping City of Shanxi has been officially approved in the Ministry of Agriculture,China.In this study,to obtain various resources forβ-conglycinins and glycinins in soybean seed,7 types phenotypes of theβ-conglycinins and glycinins were found from the 400 resources of the soybean seeds collected along the Hutuo River performing SDS-PAGE of soybean seed proteins.The habitat condition,geographical distribution and botanical characters of the wild soybean resources in representative areas were investigated and analysised.And 400 resources of the wild soybean seeds were collected;Corresponding to the total seed proteins,7 types phenotypes of(3-conglycinins and glycinins were screened using SDS-PAGE;These phenotypes were characterized to be the control type ofβ-conglycinin and glycinin,high molecular weight of a’ subunit,low molecular weight of a’subunit,lacked type ofβsubunit,top-lacked type ofβsubunit,lacked type of 11Sal and lacked type of 11Sa3,respectively.These results show various characters of(3-conglycinins and glycinins in seeds of the wild soybeans along the Hutuo River.This work laid the foundations of overall understanding of genetic mechanism controlling synthesis and deposition ofβ-conglycinin and glycinin in soybean seed,is expected to provide various materials for changing quality of soybean proteins.
