Since hybrid millet came out,it has been widely applied and propagated in north of China,because it has benefits of high yield,tolerance of dry,and leanness resistant,However,hybrid millet stil 1 has problems like hard to keep seedling and hard to thinning.In this paper,in order to realize that the benefits of hybrid millet of t he suitable number of holes improve comprehensive efficiency in m aintenance level,we analyses that under plastic mulching and hole sowing by machine,hybrid millet's the adequate number of holes,the number of seedling per hole,and the number of seeds per hole.based on the analysis,using matched seed planters in this verified seeding experiment to find out the feasibility of technology of plast ic mulching and hole sowing by machine thinning seedling.The experimental results of this paper are as follows:By plastic mulching and hole sowing method,the experimental results of the density of different number of holes and seedling per hole are shown:(1)Increased the number of holes per unit area and seedling per hole,the yield of hybrid millet has an influence.By contrast,the number of holes has a greater impact on yield.Increased the number of hole per unit area increases yield to some extent,but that cannot make up yield loss caused by less holes.Therefore,to ensure the number of hole per unit of hybrid millet is an effective way of stable yield.This study suggests that number of holes of hybrid millet in a range of 7.5 ten thousand to 15 ten thousand/hm2.(2)Under low density,single plant of hybrid millet has strong tiller-earing ability.In 4.95 ten thousand hole,tillering number per plant averagely is 7.7;ears per plant averagely is 6.7.In some extent,this character could make up yield loss caused by low density,and increase and constant yield when sparse breaks up.This is an advantageous character in water saving agriculture.(3)Through analysis of the relations between the number of seedling and yield,we know:in drought years,the number of seedling in a range of 13.2 ten thousand to 51 ten thousand/hm2 could reach stable yield level in a range of 5187.3 to 5781.8kg/hm2.In harvest years,the number of seedling in a range of 11.4 ten thousand to 55.7 ten thousand/hm2 could reach stable yield level in a range of 6183.9 to 6880.2kg/hm2.The wide range of stable yield provides basic theory of thinning seedling.(4)Through analysis of the relations between ears and yield,we know:in drought years,at least ears per hectare 37.4 ten thousand can ensure to achieve stable yield level 5229.6kg/hm2.In harvest years,at least 40.5 ten thousand per hectare can ensure to achieve stable yield level 6075kg/hm2.(5)With more number of holes per unit area,water use efficiency is lower,because of high output and low economic ratio.(6)If consider stable yield and high water use efficiency factors,the optimal density group is 7.5 ten thousand holes per hectare and 4 seedlings per hole.By manual method,the experimental results of different seeding quantity are shown:(7)The group that 7.5 ten thousand holes per hectare and 15 seeds per hole could fully embodies the comprehensive advantage of keeping seedling,thinning seedling,stable yield,and high water use efficiency.In actual production,we can consider this density group to conduct.The results of field adaptive study are shown:(8)Hybrid millet utilizes matching implement to seeding and process thinning and not thinning seedling.The result of experiment shows that there is no obvious difference in yield,and yield averagely achieves stable level.This explains that with stable density group condition and matching implement,hybrid millet could meet both requirements of not thinning seedling and stable yield.(9)Using matching implement to hole sowing,the cavity rate of hybrid millet is high.This is connected with the mismatching of hole sowing,low quality of field,and compaction of soil while raining.The main cause of cavity rate is decreasing emergence rate.To ensure the number of seedling per unit,the optimal the number seedling should be increased 30%.
