Chrysanthemum morifolium.one of the top ten traditional famous flower of China also ranks fourth in cut flowers around the globe.Beside its ornamental value it also has high economic and aesthetic significance Based on seasonal variation Chrysanthemum can be categorized into summer, autumn and winter chrysanthemum which flowered accordingly in different temperatures of each season. However flowering boom can be concentrated to a particular season by virtue of flowering regulation mechanism naturally found in chrysanthemum.Present research project was designed to get insight about the flowering mechanism by manipulating the key factors(genes)controlling this event in chrysanthemum using modern molecular approaches. The findings of this research ultimately helped to synchronize the flowering period of chrysanthemum to meet the demand and supply gap in market especially on mega cultural events not only in China but also in world.1.The FT gene has been previously reported in plants to regulate the flowering duration as well as the abundance of flowers. This FT gene is a member of FT/TFL1 family which encodes phosphatidyl ethanolamine binding protein(PEBP)in higher plants which control the transition of vegetative phase to flowering phase..here we reported the structural characteristic of CmFTL3 gene, its relationship with other members of FT/TFL1 gene family and its role in controlling the flowering mechanism in chrysanthemum. In addition to this we also reported the usefulness of CmFTL3 gene in improving the chrysanthemum for cutflower production at large scale In this study,a FT homologue gene from chrysanthemum named as CmFTL3 was cloned into plant expression vector pMDC30 to construct pMDC30:CmFTL3.The construct was used to transform CmFTL3 gene into the cutflower chrysanthemum cultivar "Jinba" by using agrobacterium mediated transforming approach.positive transgenic plants which laid the foundation for the field experiment for further evaluation.2.Chrysanthemum lavandulifolium is chrysanthemum is a diploid plants, and its genetic background is simple, and participate in the origin of cultivated chrysanthemum,as a model plant to carry out the study, will be conducive to parse the chrysanthemum in the complex biological phenomena. Results show that the different ratio of hormone had a great influence on leaf in vitro regeneration,MS 6-BA/NAA is 1.5/0.8 induced rate up to 59%.Regeneration of adventitious buds on Ms culture medium.after a week,so can induce root, the rooting rate can reach 100%.To establish a highly efficient and stable regeneration system is the key to the further study chrysanthemum genetically modified(gm),which lays the foundation for the next step of chamomile genetic transformation.
