Purpose:Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome, PRRS) is a porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) caused by highly contagious disease, to pregnant sows miscarriage, stillbirth, mummified, low earners significantly increased difficulty sow estrus as well as day-old piglet swine respiratory disease particularly characterized. The main purpose of this research project is to find the most reasonable measures to ensure the health of pigs in farms, and the resulting data are representative and persuasive, and the program to control disease of the pig farm was changed according to the experimental results, the the health of pigs populations can be improved, and the performance of the farm can be improved.Method:A pig farm in Hunan province was selected to research. Background:There are 1800 sows in the farm, the state of production of this farm was normal before the 2011, the health of the sow herd began to fluctuate in August 2011, some sow began to abort, diarrhea. In order to stabilize production state, the pigs in farm were immunized with a highly pathogenic PRRS vaccine in the end of 2011, although the production was stable for some time, but the production did not became better, especially nursery pigs occur sever disease. In this study, according to the levels of antibody against PRRSV of pigs in herd, the actual situation of production was considered, the measure to stabilize the production of farm was found, and the immune and therapy programs to solve some problems of disease of pigs in the farm and ensure herd health was found.1.Detection of antibody against PRRS in sera of pigs2.The piglets 14 days old were selected and were tested in three groups, a pig was immunized 0.5 heads PRRS vaccine in the first group, a pig was immunized 0.25 heads PRRS vaccine in the second group, and the pig wasn't immunized in the third group.3. Accord to the number of deaths of pigs and incidence of pigs and litter, the production performance was analysis after drugs and vaccine used in this farm was considered. Focused on solving the health of piglets considerable selection, grouping accurate selection of drugs is accurate, precise data on problem analysis.Result:Based on sample test results and clinical manifestations of pigs found farrowing sows and piglets serum samples in different months, porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome antibody positive rate difference to some extent, probably between 5%to 8%, relatively stable. The antibody positive rate nursery pigs and finishing pigs is substantially 100%, while the S/P refers to fluctuations, ranging from 1.0 to 5.0 (S/P> 0.4 as positive pigs, S/P<0.4 is negative pigs). The sows through vaccination, health status stable, but in nursery pigs immunized PRRS vaccine, did not receive good results, compared to non-immunized pigs, but appeared more difficult to feed, keep a good situation, and nursery pigs for pharmaceutical care, and after a blue pig ear symptoms medication, the situation gradually improved, while mortality was significantly reduced. Conclusion:For the farm, by only sows PPRS vaccine four times a year, the rest of the herd is not immune vaccination program, in terms of stable production does play a more satisfactory results. While the vaccine can have some protection against swine force, but can not just rely on the control PPRS vaccine, also we need to meet the drug. The control measures of PRRS were mainly:Safety introduction, correct and reasonable PRRS vaccination program, symptomatic of drug use, appropriate environmental controls, and reasonable control of the stress response, optimizing herd, establish a standard herd monitoring system. In this study, through data analysis to find the most reasonable solution of the farm, the resulting data is representative and persuasive, also shows that in order to improve the health of herds, and improve the performance of the farm, to ensure herd health, be sure to choose the right vaccines and preventive measures.
