In china, the development of hybrid rice were limited by transplanter which specifically for hybrid seed breeding. Based on the research for rice transplanter, and follow the agronomic requirements which hope the big&small seedlings transplanted alternately, this paper developed a new alternate transplanting machine for Big&Small rice seedling, which could planting different size seeds alternately in a row to prolong the blossom period, meanwhile, the paper probed into its operational principle, a before and after seedling box in the transplanter was designed. The component's 3D modeling finished by Pro/E software, studied the inertial force balance problem on crank rocker type transplanting mechanism, achieved the manufacture and test of prototypes. The main research contents and results were as follows:1) Technology research status and development trend of hybrid rice transplanter were studied, extend the male parent blossom period of hybrid rice according to the transplanting agronomic requirements, put forward to research a new kind of seedling transplanter that seed different size alternately.2) On the basis of agronomic requirements, transmission scheme, machine structure and plant spacing change speed were considered and designed.3) Using Pro/E software modeling the components which consist of the frame, transmission system and moving box mechanism and so on; ANSYS software to accomplished the stress analysis of frame, optimum designed a kind of adjustable oblique rod structure to enhance the frame stiffness.4) Established the kinematics and dynamics model of crank rocker type transplanting mechanism, by the Visual Basic 6 developed its dynamics analysis software, simulated and optimized analysis by MATLAB were done point at the inertial force after increase counter weight on the crank, obtained the condition to come true the mechanism inertia force completely balanced,at same time, got the effects from part balance. Theoretical and experimental research proved, the weight add to the crank mechanism is not obvious to reduce the total inertia force and decrease the vibration of the machine, also proposed the crank weight measures aimed to the different row hand transplanter.5) Completed the prototype manufacturing of rice seedling transplanter, proved the machine achieves the design requirements and the effects were good. In addition,according to the test results, the transplanter was optimized.
