Ampelopsis humulifolia'Dong Yue Hong'is a new variety, breeded by author from Ampelopsis humulifolia, with Variety. It is high ornamental value and good prospects for the development and utilization and fills the gaps Coleus woody vine.So the study on physiological and biochemical characteristics of Ampelopsis humulifolia 'Dong Yue Hong'is particularly important. The study provide a scientific basis for the cultivation and application of it. After a comprehensive analysis of the experiments, the following main results:(1) The light saturation points of Ampelopsis humulifolia'Dong Yue Hong' and Ampelopsis humulifolia Bge are about 1600?mol·m-2·s-1. Light compensation points of them are about 30?mol·m-2·s-1 and apparent quantum efficiencies of them are about 0.03mol·CO2·mol-1.The dark respiration rates are between 6?7?mol·m-2·s-1.(2) The Pn Daily variation curves of Ampelopsis humulifolia'Dong Yue Hong'are typical double peaks curve, and appear obvious "midday depression". In spring and summer, the net photosynthetic capacity is significantly higher than that in autumn.(3) The anthocyanin content in leaves of Ampelopsis humulifolia'Dong Yue Hong'increase significantly, which is the main reason for the leaves appear red. With the change of seasons, the relative content of anthocyanin significantly reduced, while also leaves turn from red to green.(4) with increasing degree of shading, the total contents of chlorophyll, the relative content of chlorophyll b were significantly increased, while light saturation point, light compensation point, dark respiration rate were significantly reduced. This indicates a strong shade tolerance. But when the the extent of Shady reaches 75%, the net photosynthetic rate decreases sharply, indicating that excessive shading will affect the growth of Ampelopsis humulifolia'Dong Yue Hong'(5) with increasing degree of shading, the anthocyanin content in leaves of Ampelopsis humulifolia'Dong Yue Hong'significantly decrease, while also leaves turn from red to green. That seriously affect the viewing of Ampelopsis humulifolia'Dong Yue Hong'.(6) Spraying 3%o sucrose,3%o potassium dihydrogen phosphate,3‰citric acid on leaves surface, It makes that the anthocyanin contents of leaves remain at a high level, increases the saturation of leaf blade and improves ornamental value of Ampelopsis humulifolia'Dong Yue Hong'.
