Header is the core component of corn harvester, and its primary function is to achieve the separation of ear and straw. The current domestic header mainly uses mechanical transmission, but it has a complex transmission line and high failure rate, which seriously decrease the harvester’s working efficiency.Aiming at the weakness of the mechanical transmission header, corn harvesting units relying on the hydraulic drive system are designed in this thesis. The header studied in this thesis bears the functions of ear picking and straw crushing.Firstly, based on analyzing and studying on the the mechanical structure of current header, overalll design scheme of ear picking and straw crushing is made, and the three-dimensional model of harvester is constructed.Secondly, the synchronous control scheme of the hydraulic system is analyzed,by the study and analysis of synchronous control methods and types, the synchronous control schemes of the squeezewheel and straw millstone are designed.Thirdly, according to the design requirements of hydraulic system, and by analyzing the hydraulic system scheme of the squzzewheel and straw millstone, the hydraulic transmission system of the header is designed, the corresponding parameters are calculated. Finally, the hydraulic system is optimized, the hydraulic system which affected the accuracy is simulated with hydraulic simulation AMESim software. The results showed that the design of the mechanical structure of the header is practicable, and the hydraulic system can meet the requirements of the design. The above study provides important foundation for the development of the header, and enriches the technology of the corn harvest machine,Besides, the study provides some reference value for the application of hydraulic technology in the harvester.
