The process of mining and smelting, the stacking of tailings and flying ash from coal combustion have been the main factors of soil pollution around mine, which also as potential threat to ecological environment. The surrounding areas of Xin Qiu surfaced mine, be located in Fu Xin City, main object of this thesis.In this experiment, I determine the physicochemical properties by collecting soil samples and combine with diversity measure of it. Aim to study the relationship between the plant biodiversity of waste-dump and the physicochemical preperties of weathered soil. By simples, I analyse the changes of plant biodiversity in the dump, and combine the physicochemical of weathered soil which ecology evaluation to evaluate the study regions. Results shows that:(1) Results for the rationalization of soil shows that the soil in waste-dump is loose and poor in absorbing water, the moisture content is low, lacking of plant nutrients, such as Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium and so on. These are different from natural soil.(2) Through the quadrat investigation, I find that the regions vegetation is almost berbs and shrubs with the character of drought and barren.(3) The correlation analysis indicated measures of biodiversity shows the low and middle negative correlation with the pH value, organic matter, very fine sand and fine sand, shows the low and middle positive correlated with the soil moisture content, soil total nitrogen, total phosphorus, total potassium, arsenic content and clay content, but no significant correlations. On the contrary, the sand content and species richness index at the 0.05 level show the significant correlated with it. These shows that both spices and species richness rise with the increase of powder and clay content. So the soil type is the main influence factor of ecological condition.(4) The arsenic content of natural topsoil are more than the weathered soil of coal gangue in the waste-dump. But the rate of water is not much of a difference. There are argyi and green bristle grass in the vegetation of waste-dump which are not appeared on the natural topsoil. According to the findings, the waste-dump should use the plants with the character of drought, barren, and alkali-resistant which can decrease water loss,increase the forest cover, and make a further study of ecological planning. It also can make a transition to another equilibrium states and realize a new virtuous circle of ecological system.
