Based on the third generation nuclear pressurized water reactor RPV,this paper makes a through study of the technology of RPV design.The contents of the research mainly including: research of the reactor pressure vessel structure,study of material selection,analysis of structure failure mode,and the research of calculate methods,including the formular design method and the analysis design method.The study of structure selection and material selection of RPV discussed the mature structure type and material characteristics of the mainly types of PWR.The structure analysis of the failure mode is mainly based on the reactor pressure vessel structure and load,cooling medium characteristics,working environment and other factors.A detailed list of possible failure modes of the structure,for the follow-up for the particular failure mode is analyzed and evaluated in detail.Finally,according to the provisions of the initial structure diagram and ASME standard preliminary calculation to determine the container wall thickness of the structure and the required reinforcement area.Different parts of the reactor pressure vessel respectively to create a detailed analysis using finite element method to ensure that all failure modes meet the specification requirements of structural design.For the complex structure of the RPV,formular methods can not be used to analysis the structure stress.ANSYS software was used to analysis the parts the pressure vessel,including cylinder,inlet nozzle,outlet nozzle,penetrations and other important parts of RPV in this paper.Based on the ASME design rulers,the main parts of the stress strength,fracture and fatigue were analysed and evaluated.Through the analysis and calculation of the pressure vessel,the key technology of RPV design has been mastered,and the work gained the experts approval of the nuclear energy industry association.This work laid the technical foundation for the independent design of reactor pressure vessel,and provided reference and technology support for our corporation gained the domestic nuclear class 1 design qualification.
