Research On The Curve Negotiation Performance Of Mid-low Speed Maglev Vehicle

Mid-low speed maglev vehicles have the advantages of small noises,low vibrations,environment friendly,high safety and reliability level,good curvature performance and etc.Mid-low speed maglev vehicles develop rapidly these years.Now,four commercial maglev lines have been put into service in China,Japan and South Korea.The HSST maglev vehicles have the most popular application.But such vehicle have the disadvantages of large sensitivity to vehicle-guideway coupling vibrations,low maximum operation speed and etc.For covering such disadvantages,a new mid-low speed maglev vehicle is developed by a team from SWJTU,in which,airsprings are mounted in the middle of the levitation bogie.This paper aims at making comparisons between these two types of mid-low speed maglev vehicles,including structures,curvature performance,vehicle dynamic performance and etc.Analyses on curvature performance indicated that when HSST mid-low speed maglev vehicles negotiating a curve,the maximum imbalanced forces of single module was lower than that of the new developed maglev vehicle,the maximum slip lateral displacement,the minimum gap between two adjacent modules,the maximum anti-roll beam dislocation,the levitation gap deformation were larger than those of the new developed maglev vehicle respectively.For tangent track conditions,when speed was lower than 160km/h,HSST mid-low speed maglev vehicles and the new developed maglev vehicles would both reach the excellent level of the lateral and vertical stability.And the difference of vertical stability between these two wagons was limited.Though the lateral stability of two maglev vehicles were both within the acceptable range,the new developed maglev vehicle had a higher level of lateral stability than HSST mid-low speed maglev vehicles.When negotiating a curve with a radius of 50 m,the new developed maglev vehicle had overall better dynamic behaviours than HSST mid-low speed maglev vehicles.When negotiating a curve with a radius of 100 m,these two maglev vehicles have their advantages and disadvantages.When negotiating a curve with a radius of 1200 m,HSST mid-low speed maglev vehicles t had overall better dynamic behaviours than the new developed maglev vehicle.In summary,the two types of mid-low speed maglev vehicles can both serve as mid-low speed maglev selections at the speed of 160km/h.Compared with the HSST,the maglev with mid-set air spring performs better when running at a high speed on curve lines of small radius and on straight line;the HSST-type mid-low speed maglev performs better when running at a high speed on curve lines of large radius.Taken together,the two maglev vehicles are able to be applied for practical use of 160km/h.The main advantages of the new developed maglev vehicle are better dynamic behaviours on tight curve conditions and tangent track conditions than HSST mid-low speed maglev vehicles.But HSST mid-low speed maglev vehicles have better dynamic behaviours on smooth curve conditions.
