Due to its simple structure、simple construction methods and easy access to materials,gravity retaining walls are widely used in slope support of railway construction.But as the growth of service years,the existing gravity retaining walls appear a lot of disease under the effect of external and internal factors.Large variation have taken place in the safe sate.Now,systematic method and standards are not constructed to evaluate the safety state of the existing gravity retaining walls,and the research results are comparatively simple.In this context,this paper research the safety assessment methods on the existing gravity retaining walls,construct safety assessment system and evaluate the safety state of the existing gravity retaining walls,which has important theoretical and practical significance.According to the research and application on assessment methods to the retaining walls and other fields,the security assessment of the existing gravity retaining walls is studied in this paper,the main research results are as follows:(1)The common diseases in the existing gravity retaining walls are classified,and the reasons causing common diseases are analyzed,thus identifying the risk factors that affect safety of the existing gravity retaining walls.(2)Method and principle that constructing the index system of safety assessment is discussed,and on the basis of past index system of safety assessment,the index system of safety assessment for the existing gravity retaining walls is established.Index of safety assessment are divided into qualitative index and quantitative index,and qualitative index are quantized by conversion principle of fuzzy language to fuzzy number.(3 Three common methods of safety assessment,which are fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method、gray clustering comprehensive evaluation method and expert evaluation method,are introduced,and advantages and disadvantages of three methods are compared and analyzed.The matter-element method of extention is used to evaluate the safety state of the existing gravity retaining walls.Based on the indes system of safety assessment,layered-model of safety assessment for the existing gravity retaining walls is constructed.The method of combination weighting based on the analsis hierarchy process and extenics is introduced.(4)Description of the detailed assessment process for the matter-element model of extension through a engineering example,as well as determining the safety level and safety state of the engineering example.
