With the flourishing development of China's city rail transit industry,the simplex cast iron brake block,high friction composite brake block,powder metallurgy brake block can no longer satisfy or economically fulfill the operating requirements of urban rail transit vehicles.It's necessary to study on a new type of high friction brake block which can reduce wheel thermal damage,no heat fading after frequent braking,stabilize friction coefficient and guarantee operation safety of new type city transit vehicles.With these purposes,the article studies on the basis of existing high friction composite brake block(Hereinafter referred to as CT-? type subway brake block)structure,operating requirements,then it comes up with high friction compound brake block with iron insert for urban rail transit vehicles(Hereinafter referred to as CT-? type subway brake block).First off,through inspection of expected functions of inserts and different cast iron material hardness,mechanics,friction parameter,at the same time making a comparison with relevant theories of CT-? type subway brake block,cast iron brake block and wheels of coach,then we pick the best suitable material for inserts.Afterwards,it makes a structure design of the inserts configuration,further on,it researches out a insert with steel plate,then weld two plates to the back plate of CT-? type subway brake block.Once again,on the basis of manufacturing process of CT-? type subway brake block,it compresses the mixed granule friction material onto back plate with the inserts,after curing and machining,it comes out the CT-? type subway brake block.At last,through inspection on physical,chemical and friction performances of CT-? type subway brake block,and field test and long-term running test,it turns out that CT-? type subway brake block can fit in the high friction brake block of operating demands for urban rail transit vehicles.The CT-? type subway brake block has no heat fading and a stable friction coefficient,reduce thermal damage to wheels,extend operating life for brake blocks,guarantee running safety,what's more,it's environmentally friendly.
