The current acceleration of the reform of the electricity market has prompted the accelerated implementation of the market price mechanism. The proportion of planned electricity gradually reduced, the proportion of market power gradually increased. Therefore, energy saving, reducing power generation costs, improving the unit's market competitiveness, have become the primary task of each power generation enterprises. In this paper, the energy consumption of each system and equipment was calculated and analyzed, based on the calculation, analysis and diagnosis of energy consumption status, operation data and main problems of a 660 MW ultra-supercritical wetting and cooling unit in Guangdong Province, combining the design data and test report of equipment and system, and combined with targeted local testing, the use of theoretical research methods, experimental research methods, supplemented by a comprehensive research methods to a large number of statistical data and data trends as the basis. For the energy consumption of the status quo and its corresponding target value of the equipment and systems, according to the unit boundary conditions, reliable energy saving measures was put forward from the aspects of operational adjustment and equipment transformation,Then energy-saving space was counted, and the unit energy-saving plan was developed.Operation adjustment was demonstrated mainly from the exhaust temperature and the operation of the milling system according to the actual production situation. Thus, the daily adjustment strategy of the operator is obtained. The equipment transformation is demonstrated mainly from the thermal system designing flaws, tightness and leakage rate of air preheater, and so on.Thus, suggests of equipment maintenance and renovation were obtained, and the energy level of the unit was actually reduced.
