With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization in China,the demand for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)is increasing both in industry,agriculture and daily life.But limited by the small load,short-endurance,poor stability of the UAV and other factors,although the huge convenience using UAV platform can bring in the industrial,commercial and agricultural fields,but progress has been unable to have a greater breakthrough.There is an urgent need for a new type of UAV that can travel at low altitude and low speed,ensure the necessary stability in vertical take-off and landing,hover and flight,and be able to operate hours in the air.According to the above background,the rotor propelled unmanned airship combines the advantages of quad-rotor and airships,and has the characteristics of long navigation time and flexible control.The new type of rotor propelled unmanned airship has the hybrid power,which can fly at low altitude,its innovation is to cancel the traditional rod connection.The main structures include airbag,four propelling rotors and a side-by-side rotor which is directly arranged on the airbag.Among them,the propulsion of the rotor can provide the power and control of all directions of the airship.Airbag can provide most of the lift for UAV,then the power consumption on side-by-side rotor can be reduced greatly,the payload is also increased;especially can solve the problem that short-endurance of UAV due to the shortage of energy;The side-by-side rotor provides the UAV with a rise in lift when used to change the height of the aircraft and easy to lift control.In this paper,on the basement of overall structure layout of the airship,the 3D dimensional model are draw out.In order to obtain optimal design scheme with the rotor propelled airship,by understanding the aerodynamic interaction between the rotor and the airbag,the aerodynamic interaction between rotor and the influence on the whole of the airship and explore the airship side-by-side rotor distance,Based on the computational fluid dynamics numerical simulation technique,the fluid simulation method is used to simulate the flow field of the whole airship.Finally,the numerical simulation results using FLUENT show that,rotor on the airbag propulsion arrangement than into arrangement propulsive efficiency is higher,the distance between the rotor and the airbag on the propulsion efficiency has a certain influence;the rotor itself is affected by two rotors installed distance is very small;The aerodynamic performance of the airship is greatly influenced by the distance between the two rotors.According to the above numerical simulation results,comprehensive consideration,According to the above numerical simulation results,the aerodynamic performance of the airship is comprehensively analyzed,the structural design of the airship is optimized,and some suggestions for future research work are provided.
