The tripod sliding universal joint is a new type of universal joint which was independently developed by the research group,it has won the National Invention Award.There are many advantages of the tripod sliding universal joint,such as simple structure,low manufacturing cost,good synchronization performance,strong transmission capacity which reduced gradually with the increase of deflection angle,large adjustment distance of self axial slip and so on.The tripod sliding universal joint has far-reaching developments and prospects.Based on the previous research of the research group,the paper involved the multi-field coupling field of the tripod sliding universal joint for the first time.The main contents are as follows:(1)The related knowledge of couplings was introduced,and the research status at home and abroad was summarized.And then the research content and significance of the fluid-structure coupling and heat transfer analysis on tripod sliding universal joint were put forward.(2)The anti-wear structure was studied based on hydrodynamic lubrication.Thermal elastohydrodynamic mathematical model based on generalized Reynolds equation and Computational Fluid Dynamics was established,and the common numerical solution method was studied.Then the paper introduced the turbulence model and wall function in detail.(3)The software and coupling control equations involved in fluid-structure coupling were studied,and the geometric model of the tripod sliding universal joint was built.Then the grid of lubricating oil film by ICEM and FLUENT was divided.Coupling situation of lubricating oil film with the slide rod and tripod sleeve were studied under different pressures and frequencies.The nephogram of deformation,stress and strain combined with the tripod sliding universal joint's characteristics analyzed,and it laid the foundation for the next step of calculation.(4)The basic theories and equations of the cavitation effect were studied,and cavitation models were added to the fluid domain through FLUENT.The fluid-structure coupling with cavitation models under different pressures and frequencies was analyzed,and contrasted with the previous coupling results.Dynamic grid technology was applied to establish two-way coupled computation process.Then the coupling results of the slide rod and tripod sleeve which iterative solving were analyzed,and the cause of the results was explained.(5)The theories and formulas of coupling heat transfer were studied.The thermal-structure coupling simulation analysis was conducted,and the causes of temperature and thermal stress changes were analyzed.The fluid-thermal-structural multi-field coupling results of the slide rod and tripod sleeve were calculated under different pressures and frequencies,and contrasted with the fluid-structure coupling results.Then the reasons for the change of the fluid-structural coupling results which considering thermal effect were studied and summarized.
