Connection Structure Based Bamboo Children Balance Bicycle Design

In the increasing depletion of energy,how to guide for sustainable development by design solution is being an important issue in today’s society.Bamboo,as an alternative to timber resources,due to its excellent biological and physical properties has attracted more and more attention.Nowadays,the bamboo is widely used in building decoration,furniture production and other fields.However,because the original physiological characteristics of bamboo,bamboo joints are clear,bamboo stem is cylindric,wall thickness and diameter bamboo are different,mechanical processing is difficult,led to bamboo industry’s serious dependence on artificial crafts.Especially connection technology of raw bamboo materials can hardly be finished through enormous quantities automation effective means,still largely depend on the processing craft of a skilled master to complete.Therefore in the current market,more bamboo materials mechanically processed into bamboo sheets,bamboo plank,bamboo,bamboo,bamboo composites,used in product design and architectural design.But actually,in the process of ‘ Bamboo’s Substitution for Wood’,simply change bamboo by mechanical processing into Bamboo tablets material,and bamboo plate,and bamboo fiber composite,its consumption of water resources,and power resources,and human resources even over manufacturing same products of wood may needed,cannot achieved its material advantage as ‘Green and Low-Carbon’;only in using original bamboo material,based on original bamboo itself of advantage features can achieved real goal of ‘Sustainable Design’.I will present the distribution of bamboo material resources,processing technology and its applications,original bamboo fabric development and limits’ analysis in this paper.Combined with the professional knowledge of design,according to the physical and psychological needs of children,I will design with bamboo material and connection structure,give a bamboo balance bicycle innovative design for children.
