Considering the importance of the station power system and the importance of the valve cooling power system to the normal operation of the DC system,the safety and stable operation should be fully guaranteed.Most load of the valve cold power system is motors.The starting current instantly changes to a great extent.The impact of the station load is very large,so value optimizations of the converter station power system protection must be based on the actual characteristics of these changes to determine the maximum current,whether the pressure set value,time delay,etc.,in order to carry out a reasonable protection settings,so that the station power configuration meet their system requirements.In this paper,the setting and cooperation of the protection system for the converter station is studied,which focuses on the application of the valve cooling power system and the standby power supply automatic switching device.Based on the cold power system of Baoan converter station,the design experiment is carried out to test the starting characteristics of the valve cold power in the 400 V AC system.It is confirmed that the soft starter and fuse selection of Baoan station valve is correct and the parameter setting is suitable.In the self-cast system switching experiment prepared by the valve cold system power supply automatically switch and other protection on 10 kV AC system level,it is found that when a single power failures,the restart of AC power after the power loss can be successful in the self-test process with a single main pump failure.However,after delay the main pump soft starter failure can not automatically return,resulting in the valve cooling system trip due to no main pump running.Through the analysis of the set timing,this paper puts forward the specific improvement measures for the valve cooling system in view of the problems existing in the self-cast test.There are no abnormal alarm signals and trip signals in the verification test.Valve cooling system can maintain safe and stable operation.Based on the analysis of the change behavior of the converter station,this paper puts forward the calculation principle and optimization method of the setting value of the protection system of the converter station,so that the protection of the power supply system can be better matched to meet the requirements of the relay protection actionBased on the above research results,this paper designed and developed a set of visualization converter station power system protection value-set management system.This system is a integrated analysis platform for integrated data acquisition,power flow calculation,fault calculation and motion simulation of the converter station.
