Wire-Arc additive manufacture is a kind of manufacturing technology which combines cladding and rapid prototyping together. This technology has high production efficiency, low production cost, and is applicable to fabricate all kinds of complicated structure parts. And the parts has a compact structure, good mechanical properties, which makes the technology has broad application prospects in the fields of aviation and aerospace. This paper mainly using WAAM based on CMT welding technology to investigate the forming size prediction, forming welding process of inclined parts and microstructure and mechanical properties of manufactured aluminum parts.CMT shaped metal deposition system for aluminum components was built based on KUKA robot, and create the virtual robot working scenario in the Robotmaster offline programming software for the layering, trajectory planning, simulation and program generation of formed components;use the CMT cold metal transfer welding technology to conduct additive manufacturing experiment of aluminum components;experimental samples using quadratic general rotary unitized design method are designed and the shaping discipline between cladding process parameters(wire feed speed, nozzle height and welding speed)and cladding layer width and height is studied, and build the size prediction model for the cladding layer.Through the forming experiment of aluminum alloy components,it is found that this model has great prediction effects, and the formed aluminum alloy components have high precision accuracy.Wire and arc additive manufacture(WAAM)has now been widely used to fabricate medium and small size complex structural parts, but for large-size parts with inclined angles,it is difficult to use positioner to change build directions. Thus inclined structure directly fabricated without support would be appreciated. The CMT welding process was adopted with a vertically positioned torch to investigate the effect of process parameters(wire feeding speed(WFS),welding speed(TS),parameter combination under the same line-energy,interlayer temperature)on the ultimate inclined angle of aluminum straight wall parts. This paper presents an investigation on the microstructure and mechanical property of Al-alloy parts made by using additive manufacturing based on CMT(Cold Metal Transfer)welding technology. With the same 3D model and process parameters,a set of hollow cylindrical parts with 100 layers were built up using 2319,4043,5356 aluminum welding wire, respectively. Then their microstructure, tensile strength, and microhardness were tested and analyzed comparatively in order to provide a theoretical basis for the subsequent application of material manufacturing.
