Nowadays,the idea of Building Information Modeling(BIM)has caught more and more attention by the engineers and researchers from domestic and overseas during the teamwork between the construction departments.Especially in recent years,the characteristics such as large investment scale,long construction cycle,plenty participation units,high requirement of project function and massive information of whole constructing cycle,make the construction design and management really complicated.Therefore,the traditional methods of communication and management are far from meeting the requirements.In the process of studying for on-the-job graduate students and participating in various engineering projects due to work reasons,they gradually find out The current design for traditional construction industry is based on Auto CAD.The database of AutoCAD is designed for managing “line”,which contains points,coordinates of lines,styles and information display.And because of the feature that Auto CAD has,the presentation of plane,facade and section during the architectural design is limited in the two-dimensional model.Thus,the information that a CAD drawing can provide is restricted by the difficulty of building the logic interconnection.With the development of BIM technology,the problem shown by traditional technique which is based on Auto CAD are becoming more and more serious.And the issues are listed below.In the stage of project design for example,due to the changes that construction unit requires and the actual conditions that construction site have,the update of altered drawing will be inconsistent with the anterior design.The drawings are completed by the different departments,thus the infrequent communication between them will lead to the massive cross of pipelines.During the project engagement,the alterations from the stage of design,construction and cooperation,will make the actual project different from the drawing.And the complication of configuration and function,demand a more various and compact construction distribution.Therefore,how to efficiently heighten the head room in the limited space,and how to avoid the mistakes happen during the construction procedure and reduce the probability of reprocessing,are becoming an importanttask for the improvement of engineering management quality.In the stage of construction for instance,the information transfer in traditional construction industry needed to be reported level by level,which makes the work efficiency at a very low rate.When the drawing needed to be modified,the feedback are ineffective and will lead to the delay of update and cause the reprocessing.Moreover,the weakness of CAD demonstrates in dimensionality and the poor concept for the construction system,are becoming the obstruction for a successful project.In this work,the research is base the on “the applications for BIM technology in design and construction of heating and ventilation” and the Recit software was used in actual project to study the series problems that the traditional construction industry have in design and construction procedure.This work focuses on the application of BIM technology in heating and ventilation field.From the platform construction to the analyzation of BIM 1.0 program,and then the project applications for BIM 2.0 model,the importance of generalizing the BIM technology will be adequately reflected by the comparison of actual construction project.Meanwhile,the examples from domestic and overseas were also analyzed in this work,so that the practical experience and reference can be provided for BIM in design and construction procedure.
